So bikes working and I'm free Sundays so nothing better than either riding of cleaning my bike, but I'm looking for the best way to clean her, I don't have access to hose so looking for a spray on cleaner that doesn't need rinsed off , Any recommendations on a cleaner or tips and techniques

Cool for the xv125 virago, sounds perfect

How bad are they cos I couldn't get original nuts back on and used some normal m6 nuts and went on and stayed on ok, so far

So finally got my bike on the road and love it, now I need saddlebags, though have seen the support bar, so a 2 stage question, firstly , Is the support bar absolutely necessary, as I hear you have to reposition the indicators, and secondly, anybody know a place to get reasonably cheap leather look saddlebags that will be suitable for an XV125.

Well only paid 300 quid for it so my budget us still intact , it's just more knowledge of diagnosing the issue and or tools to fix, I'm fairly sure it's not anything major that needs done to it,

Well I know it will run, and its the bike I've been after for a long long time,

So I've tried fixing my cheap project bike but failed and now just want it on the road, before I get too disinterested and de motivated in biking. Time to spend lots of money and take it to a garage as I don't know anyone who can fix it cheaply. Nor do I have the time, tools and knowledge despite all you help. So thank you all again

Anyone know what would cause quite a strong smell of petrol coming from engine, no obvious leaks anywhere but when it's idling and revving it is what I would class as too strong, and would like it sorted before I'm riding down the road like ghost rider

Ok do oops doesn't come close, and I kinda want someone to tell me I have something wrong with the bike, so I checked tank and was pretty empty so chucked 5 litres in and eventually started revving on the on fuel pump position ( as it didn't before) however when revving high it occasionally sounds like it misfires or loses power momentarily and it even stalled, have I just not had enough petrol in when I lost power or is it the coil or plugs possibly causing the occasional misfire

I've had a thought, whilst I was replacing the exhaust the gasket slipped a bit but still seemed to make a seal, of for any reason it didn't make a seal from front or rear cylinder to exhaust manifold would this cause the same issue running lean and cause vacuum leaks and lack of throttle response?

Ok had a quick butchers and yea I can see a few cracks in mine, so next question is, how to i replace myself, is it just a case of undoing and slipping a new one on

So exhaust is all done , took it for a spin and worked fine, pulled up for an hour, then pulled away again, and 500 yards seem to start losing lower then just died, started again a few times but as I pull throttle it has no power and eventually refused to even start, any ideas, cos I'm getting inpatient and losing interest in biking due to many issues with this, seems I fix one and another 2 happen

So installed new exhaust and down pipe to my 125 virago, however the jubilee type clip used to secure the downpipe to filter box does absolutely nothing it seems, exhaust gasses still come out the gaps and can't see why it would make a seal, any ideas what I can use or do, I've pushed the downpipe in as far as it can go and seems almost too narrow to make a decent seal.

Cheers ive had a look, and can't seem o find any that look the same , do I need that non threaded shoulder in the middle or could I just use a completely threaded stud

If I get it out in one piece and hacksaw the end 1/4 inch thats stripped will it have enough to hold the exhaust onto the cylinder. Or do I have to replace it

So got my new exhaust and went to put on but the bolts coming out of rear cylinder have stripped at end and pretty sure nut is knackered too, any ideas how to fix or how to get out where I can get some new bolts and nuts that will be suitable from

Also is the 250 virago featured in the Haynes Manuel, as ain't they the same bike as the 125 with regards to everything but cc size

Ok looks like I'm fixing it myself, can someone guide me through it, I am brand new to bikes and mechanics, just a rough idea of what to do. And what tools

He said the rear cylinder did start eventually but only at higher revs,

Hi guys one more question and hopefully my bike should be up and running, I'm replacing the entire exhaust system on my 125 Virago and need to replace the gaskets, are they all universal size or anyone know a good place to get them quick Cheers
