  1. Hi All, just got the old girl back from the carb rebuild and it’s running brilliantly. The one bugbear I’ve always had is the stiff clutch lever, not helped with a touch of arthritis. Just wondering if anyone has had a hydraulic clutch conversion done? Cheers, Mark
  2. Just to update everyone - unfortunately I can no longer recommend these carbs. Problems started after around 6 months with the front cylinder over fuelling, then eventually the rear. I got a recommended workshop to take a look, they were unable to get it running properly with these carbs - initially they seems over jetted for the bike. Biting the bullet they decided to rebuild and refit the standard carbs. These had several problems, including the sliders being fitted the wrong way round. They gave the ignition system a good check over and found no problems there. Apparently it’s running like a sewing machine now I’m getting it back tomorrow - really looking forward to getting out for a run. Mark
  3. Yes replaced both the inline filters from the main tank, and the reserve tank. Not sure if someone has added an extra filter in the past as I can only see one on the parts diagram
  4. Just had the Mikuni TM38 kit fitted and am delighted with the results. Only had a short run home but the low speed running is transformed. The kit worked out around £450 with import duty. Looking forward to a trying them out on a good long run
  5. After having the old girls carbs rebuilt twice, and still having low speed running problems, I’ve ordered these https://www.mikunioz.com/shop/tm38-mikuni-flatslide-kit-yamaha-xv-1100/?v=79cba1185463 Hopefully with a tank flush I will be enjoying some smoother running will let you know how I get on. Mark

  7. Hi M8, its a complete nightmare. Its taken me a year to get all the bits ready for mine On the Yamaha UK website there is access to the parts diagrams you will need. Yamaha still stock the parts ~ 1 week delivery, but they are Expensive. Ive had some parts from http://www.cmsnl.com/ which with the exchange rate worked out about a third cheaper. Im selling my old bits if that helps http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/113643955/yamaha-virago-xv1100-original-exhaust.html http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/113643979/yamaha-xv1100-xv750-dragon-pipes.html
