  4. Well guys its done...... Aside from finding decals im happy with for the tank its all finished. Sorted the electrics with a rewire. A couple of leaks sorted and a top tip for any newbies when setting valves clearances. As you will read, top dead centre must be found and on a four stroke that happens twice. When setting the valves you do it on the combustion stroke not the power stroke as i did yesterday. Fired up the bike and it sounded like a sewing machine. Did a bit of reading and felt stupid. Reset today and now sweet as a nut. Ill post the link that i read that really helped me when i find it. A BIG thankyou to all for your help and support. Who knows i may get another project but for now an MOT and im away. Who knows we may meet on a day out. Stay safe and speak soon. stay safe
  5. A rebreather also gives a little more power so removing it would reduce output. stay safe

  9. Yeh ill have a look at the wiring tomorrow. Ran out of time today thanks to waking up to an inch of snow this morning. The tank has pissed me off a bit ill just re do it and be more careful about which laquer i use. [emoji35] stay safe
  10. Hi guys. Well im sat here smiling away. She has fired up. Ticks over nicely. Only a couple of issues. I hadnt tightned a bolt fully so oil came spraying out. Spilt petrol on the tank and its took the laquer off and when i turn the bars she cuts out so loose connection somewhere. But aside from all that. She runs. Yahooo. Tried to post a vid but tapatalk shuts down everytime i try. stay safe

  17. Hi. Id favour the idea of the carb. Look how the throttle works inside the carb. What happens inside the carb when you twist the throttle and then make sure that all is clean and not sticking. Dont forget to tell us when you find out. We love to know and learn. Stay safe.

  20. Thanks for that slice. Do you know if DVLA will have anything to say about the milage when it goes in for MOT i dont want to get done for "clocking".
  21. Morning all. The sun is out so a good day for a ride. I was playing on the internet last night and came across a GOV website to check previous MOT's so i punched in the bikes details and POW the previous owner has altered the clock. My clock says 31600mls. The last MOT on the website says 61460mls. Now i know that the bike is solid due to the rebuild but where do i stand legally. When i put the bike in for MOT i dont want to get in bother. Do i report it to DVLA ?.
