Hi. I had this problem when I first got my xj6. So I went onto you tube and watched a video of a guy putting his bike on the centre stand. Realised I was doing it all wrong, corrected myself and now it's no problem. It is down to technique, mainly using your body weight on your right leg. Don't trust the side stand too much, far too easy for somebody to push your bike over when parked!!
  2. Hi. Nice bike, good choice. I passed my test last June and bought myself a yamaha xj6 diversion fully faired. Lovely first big bike. I put a double bubble screen on, rad guard (after two weeks I got 2 big stone chips in the rad), crash bungs, heated grips, rear hugger, top box (which is useful but I can also take it off), and most recently a tail tidy which makes the back look much nicer. Why the bike doesn't come with a tail tidy already is a mystery to me. Surely if the bike looks nicer, more chance of selling!! I love the looks of my bike, and love riding it more. Roll on summer!! Enjoy yours.

    Re'vit leathers

Thanks for all your comments. I have a textile set which is RST and is brilliant for keeping out the cold and rain. Even with the lining out I was sweating in summer. Was thinking leathers more for protection and hopefully I won't get caught out in the rain!! The leathers come with a removable liner too. Still, I would rather be as kitted up as possible just in case and I'll just have to live with being a bit warm.

    Re'vit leathers

Hi all. As I'm new to biking (had my licence since June 2013) the first set of jacket and trousers I bought were textile ones. I'm looking in to buying a leather jacket and trouser set and wondered if anybody has heard of the brand, and if so what are your thoughts? Thought I'd ask as it's a lot of money to spend (500 pound for the set I'm looking at!!). Any advice would be gratefully received.
  5. Nice looking bike. I agree that the tail tidy really does look the bees.
  6. Hi all. My name is Rachel and I live in Leicestershire. I have always loved bikes but never owned one until last year. I decided to take my test last June, passed mod 1 and mod 2 first time and bought my bike on the 1st July 2013. I decided to start off with a fairly tame yamaha xj6 diversion abs fully faired and I have to say the bike is fab!! Have been running it in so have been taking it easy, and also I'm a newbie so am also a bit inexperienced so perhaps have been riding a bit slow. I have been adding all sorts to my bike (I do wish bikes would come with all the gear on them!) including a double bubble screen, crash bungs, rad guard, heated grips, rear hugger, givi removable top box and today a tail tidy. What a difference a tail tidy makes to the looks of my bike. Love it!! I can't wait for the nicer weather to get out on my bike again as I don't want to go out in the rain and get my bike wet, and also get salt all over it. Anybody else have the same bike, and if so what do you think of it?
