  1. Years ago I used my sister's nail varnish remover to take badges off the car (then washed it straight away), it didn't leave any marks or discoloration to the paintwork. Not sure if this is good advice or not though lol.
  2. Hi chaps, As a former glasses wearer (got the things zapped last month) and an owner of a series 2, I did not have any major discomfort wearing both glasses and helmet, obviously you are aware of your glasses and over a long ride you can feel the pressure on your ears but my major issue was only with riding in the cold / rain and having my glasses steam up. I don't think you should have any issues, but why not wear the helmet in the house for a while (before taking any labels off) and maybe you could send it back if you have any issues?
  3. I too have the Shark Evo 2 (have done for about a year and a half I reckon). It is very useful when riding in Europe through hot summer days. It also has the tinted visor bit that slides down, and I have mine wired for autocom etc. I haven't noticed any sore neck even when riding 300 miles a day (on tour, not in general day to day use). It is easy to flip the front forwards and back, even on the move, just remember that you need to flip the visor up or the chin guard will get stuck half way round (alternatively don't flip the helmet whilst on the move). As mentioned earlier, it is handy for going into the petrol station and not having to remove your helmet etc. I think you will be more than happy with your choice. Ride Safe.
  4. Hi everyone, Just joined the site as its about time to get the 950 Midnight Star out on the road again and thought I should say hi. I am currently considering if I should self install a set of Hard Saddle Bags, Trunk, Engine Bars, Spot Lights, Batwing Fairing, Auto Com and powerpoints in the Trunk.... OR... to have someone else do it for me. I did a few small things on the VN900 before I traded it for the Star last summer and had the above parts shipped from the USA. It doesn't look like I need a lot of tools, but I'm concerned about the drilling of the fiber glass saddle bags and trunk (think thats what they are made from). Also need to think if I want to tamper with the wiring or to have it professionally taken care of. All this in prep for my 2nd bike trip to Europe (just France this time) and with the mrs on the back space is gonna be a premium, already though about kicking her off the back, but she holds on toooooo tight lol. Does anyone know if the work mentioned above comes with any hidden pitfalls that I should consider before I begin. Thanks, Andrew. XVS 950A Midnight Star
