  1. Sounds like your caliper pistons are sticking. Try giving them a decent clean with brake cleaner once you've removed the pads. The pistons should be nice and shiny. I often have a similar problems due to dogs who mistake my front wheel for a lampost...
  2. Welcome to the site mate. I would recommend using a lead substitute to protect your valve seats.
  3. Depending on what parts you need I may be able to help you out as I have a complete engine in boxes. There are a couple of places that sell spare parts throughout Europe. Try this one http://shop.wemoto.com/index.dyn?oid=2147967
  4. Check that the earth wire is not broken.
  5. I had the same prob on my FZ and it was one of the HT leads. To check which one start it in the dark and look for any sparks. Failing that, if you have spare coils and leads try changing them one at a time. Paul
  6. Try taking off the fuel cap at 100 kmh and see if that helps
  7. It would look nice on the back of a Robin Reliant

    Brakes

Personally I think that not having a bake brake is not legal and you certainly wouldn't pass the MOT test. Having said that, the MOT is only valid whilst in the garage forecourt. I hardly ever use my back brake but even so I feel more comfortable with it their. If anything ask the old bill.
  9. No worries Damo If you need any info just let me know. Paul

  11. Cheers mate It's what I thought but I prefered to check Thanks again Paul
  12. Question concerning the fazer headlight. I'm fitting a fazer headlight to my fz which I might say is taking some time due to the amount of fibre glassing. I would like to now if the lefthand light when you're on the bike is wired to the dip or main beam. If anyone can let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks

    Hello All!

Hello mate I have the 1991 model as yourself and as you say it's a really decent bike. At the moment I'm tidying mine up cos when I bought it, it was missing all of the fairings. The top one I bought new for 120 euros and the side panels my mate gave me. For the triangle in the middle I modified a Kawa one to fit. If you need any info or help, don't hesitate Paul
  14. thankfully over here in France the ncd from your car is used fr the bike insurance so it's quite cheap to have both. I hadn't ever insured a bike over here and when I got a quote for my FZ it was twice as much as the bike is worth. I found insurance though by using the car ncd for the bike and promising them that I'd insure the car with them as well when the contract run out. Shame they can't do the same thing back home.

Welcome I have fond memories of Bath and its surronding area. And nice looking bike.
  16. I've got Michelin Macadams 100X on mine and they are quite hard but they hold the road well. Little long to warm up in the wet but they wear well.
  17. Welcome. Where abouts are you in France?

So why not say if there's no hello there's no reply.

    A simplhello

I don't want to sound arrogant but I've noticed that more and more people are joining this forum and less and less are saying hello. I know it's a miserable time of the year for most bikers cos they have to look at their pride and joy rather than riding it but come on it doesn't hurt to remain polite with fellow bikers!
  22. Alright mate, Have you looked at the cam chain cos if the tensioner is worn that could cause noise.
  23. I'm looking for a gasket set or just headgaskets for my FZ 750. Thanks in advance Paul
