  1. I can see your problem with the throttle lol got to admit it does look very clean for an older bike. Have you sat on it or taken it out for a test ride? If you are sure thats the bike you want then look into it i just worry about how comfortable you'll be after about an hour on a smaller bike as crap isnt comfortable when it hits!!! lol
  2. love it mate!! looks awesome! Just take it easy and you will have nothing but fun on the R6's!!
  3. or even an R6, they are nice bikes to commute on as i do it and yes they can be quick if you want them to be but are very nice bikes to just ride and let the world go by as you know the power is there in case of emergency but you dont have to use it! I would say prob a Fazer would be a better option becuase of your height might give you cramp over a longer distance on a smaller sports bike!
  4. wow, well i never thought that would be an option but i guess if its been tried adn tested and can withstand the abuse of racing it cant be that bad!!! What has everyone else tried?!?!?
  5. hmmmm being quite tall id imagine that bike would become very uncomfortable very soon, especially if you go out for an afternoon blast! Have you thought about looking at Fazers?? They are good for the work run and have enough room for taller riders and wont shoot you like a rocket from a gun when you drop the clutch! lol Or are the more old skool bikes more appealing to you?? In that case possibly the YZF750 might be an option?!? Matt
  6. What are you riding plans?? Are you a fair weather rider, use it everyday for commuting person?? How tall are you as well as that also have a bearing! Cheers and also welcome along!!!
  7. got to admit i do like these lttle bikes!!! Always look a lot bigger than they are too!
  8. I really took to him after the swap from the YZF 750 to the R7 as i loved how radical the R7 looked in comparison to the lumpy GSXR and Honda of that year. Plus i do have to say Nori's helmets are stunning especially the 41 model that he's using now. I want one!! It'll match my R6! lol
  9. cheers!!! Ill check it out and see what i can get!!
  10. ahhhh very nice!!! And tell your sister she better not scratch your tank! lol
  11. Very nice mate!!! looks awesome i do like black bikes with white decals.
  12. Yeah thats not a bad idea the only problem is ive just bought a new car so buying a track bike at the minute is only a pipe dream. Will come one day tho! I think i might have to hunt for a place that does bike hire for snetterton as it takes some of the worry away and lets you enjoy the time more! Anyone know of anyone that hires 04 spec R6's! lol
  13. Hi all, Just wondered what bike series people follow most and who they follow?!? I am a world and british superbike follower! Got to support Nori Haga and the Yamaha crew
  14. So if we are to do it then, use someone elses bike and watch out for people cutting you up! hmmmm right whats the phone number for the bike hire! lol .........yellow pages..................lol
  15. look pretty good to me. I've never used anything like that but might be quite nice when touring?!?!
  16. What steering dmapers do people use adn what are recommended??? What things are best to look out for in them???
  17. I thought it might be handy to have some areas where people can put their own reviews across on certain parts that relate to Yamaha Sports bikes. I thought i would start of on tyres as my rear is almost shot and about time to replace. I have used the Dunlop 208's that came on the R6 originally and the Dunlop rear as used on the 2007 model but they just dont seem ot wear too well. I have now switched to a Michelin Pilot Power on the front and going to try one on the rear and so far the front has performed amazingly they give loads of grip and confidence that i never got from the dunlop front. Am not sure about wear yet but we'll see how long it lasts! Ive also heard good things about the Bridgestone BT14's anybody used them???
  18. I must admit i went out for a blast with a couple of mates yesterday and they were on a GSXR750 with damper and a ZX6R without and the mate with the damper was much smoother over the bumps, where the riders without dampers me included couldnt get comfy and didnt have as much confidence through the corners as the bumpers were really taking their toll! After this weekend i am definately looking into them for my R6!!
  19. Absolutely gorgeous, I normally dont like the Virgin pain jobs but this one really looks good and looks awesome! Really nice bike!
  20. Hello fellow Ipswichian!! lol Glad to see that there are some of us on here!! I have an R6 and it was my first big bike and im in love with it!! Its such a dream to ride even with the slight flat spot upto about 7,000rpm!
  21. ahh this sounds a very similar story to myself! My mates and i were considering taking our bikes (my R6, mates: ZX6R and GSXR750) to snetterton for a novice day for the experience and to enjoy the bikes potential safely. The problem was that there is an overwhelming fear of having to pick the bike out of the gravel with tears streaming as you realised that you've just buggered up your pride and joy and that you now have to get home! I am aware you only risk it if you push it but any advise anyone could shed would also be appreciated by me too!!! Thanks!
  22. yeah i hate that stuff too it might look ish ok from a very long distance with a squint but i would never grance my R^ with it, its got to be the real thing or nothing else!
  23. hahahaha, Quality spot there!!!
  24. They dont have parts for the 03-05 R6!!! I am thinking about E-Bay and Yamaha official parts i guess is prob the best way unless anyone knows of any other places??
  25. If i said that, she would only want the money to be spent on a bag for her!!! lol Hmmmm..... think keeping the pegs might save my soft and tenders getting a bit of a kick!! lol
