  1. Maybe this is a simple problem but when I flip the switch to my right indicator it doesn't work, it doesn't seem to engage the switch properly. I can turn it left fine but the right one only seems to come on sporadically, it doesn't work everytime I press it. It's like the switch on my indicator is broken. Should I take this to a mechanic or am I over looking something? It's a Fazer FS600 2002 model.
  2. Cheers man, I will definitely look into that alarm. I know what you're saying too, if someone wants it that badly they will have it away. Hopefully a 2002 model with a lot of anti-theft devices on it won't be such a invite for absolute scoundrels.
  3. Unfortunately chains are pretty useless again mechanical thefts like angle grinders and so on. My lock broke awhile back and I rented an angle grinder from the hire shop in a bid to cut it off. It went through the lock within about 5 seconds. It might not be so bad when I keep my bike indoors, but I don't feel safe leaving it on the streets of London. There's soo many thieves about in London constantly prowling for opportunities. The almax security chain boasts to be one of the most secure chains on the market but it's still unless against angle grinders. I got an alarm from the internet but installing it is a lot harder than I expected, the instructions want me to cut some of the wiring out of my bike and solder the new alarm parts in. I haven't done any soldering since I left school so I'm not going to attempt to fit it myself. As mentioned before I don't think I will take my motorbike down there until I get a place where I can keep it indoors.
  4. As others said the battery is messed up or not recharging properly. You can bump start it very easily if you get caught out, Just put it into gear and roll it forward a bit, let the clutch fly out and hit the ignition, then grab the clutch in again before you fly off. Riding with the lights on should not effect your battery charge. Do you have heated grips?
  5. Hi there. I currently ride a yamaha fazer 600 and I lost my job recently due to cut backs in the way the public sector is being funded so I'm moving to London to get a job where positions like mine are better funded- However I don't want to get political. I just want to know what riding in London is like full time. I'm gonna be living in Wood Green on a temp basis for a bit. I heard that bike theft is a pretty big problem in London. At the moment I have no way of keeping my bike indoors, but when I move again I might be able to keep it indoors. Anyone got any tips for riding in London? Should I invest in any other security devices? Or should I maybe keep my bike locked up at my parent's house and just use.... *bites lips* PUBLIC TRANSPORT ???? I currently have a bike cover, boss padlock alarm, disc lock and an almax security chain. My bike is locked under a lit lampost infront of my house. The area here is very quite though, not at all like london.

    Heyyy

They're pretty amazing looking bikes and are definitely a good place to start if you're looking to go on to bigger bikes in the future. A bit pricey, but if that's not an issue then it's definitely a good choice.
  7. Scum are drawn to 125's like flies to sh*t. I had my 125 stolen once and someone decided to kick it over once smashing the fairing and breaking off a wing mirror. It's very annoying. You'll probably get a call in a few days from the police saying they've picked it up with lockset smashed out of it and all the fairing smashed. My personal advice is let the insurance write it off, I paid £570 to get mine back on the road and after a month I had to replace the cam-link, then the chain and sproket set and then the engine started screwing up. The scum will red-line just short of the engine exploding. In future get an alarm, even a cheap disc-lock alarm, it'll give you good warning if someone tampers with your bike. It's such a bugger, when mine was knicked I had to also pay £120 for the impoundment fees too! An absolute joke! Further insult to injury I had get it out of the impound lot as quick as possible because each day that it was there I would incur a fee of £12!!! I had a smashed up bike with no lockset and battery pulled out and I had to wheel it out as quickly as possible and I was absolutely miles away from where I lived. It's outrageous, totally outrageous, also you don't get a choice, if the police find it they automatically source it out to a third party. It's like getting robbed twice. I had to eat beans on toast for nearly two months to pay for it all, absolutely gutted, my insurance excess was £500 too. It's probably for the better if you never see your bike again. Hate to sound like a moaner, but grrrrrr 'n' such! I got an almax security chain now but you can still cut through it with power tools like an angle grinder. Anyone who nicks a bike deserves to come off it and break their neck. XT 125's are a real magnet for these dirty rotten scum. They are targeted by young thieves looking to take something across the fields.
  8. Does anyone know if this will work for me? http://www.ricambiweiss.de/product_info.php/info/p457_HAU-universal-belly-pan-Bellypan-Fixing-Kit-all-Models.html/XTCsid/1oq98m1mivtgcds08er2hnjga7
  9. Ebay is good for that. It is know as the top fairing cowl, however some just say fairing. There's a few breakers on there that have parts coming in sporadically, so keep on checking. I managed to get a bellypan but I can't get a fitting kit for it. I'm really annoyed, apparently there are no companies that will supply a fitting kit if you don't buy the original part from them. I don't think the top fairing needs a fitting kit or anything else you won't already have on the bike.
  10. Hi there, I got a fazer 600 2002 bellypan off ebay recently. Unfortunately I didn't know I needed a fitting kit. After a tiresome slug on google I have been unable to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know a manufacturer who will offer these? I've been told "pyramid" make these but so far my search hasn't yielded any results. Does the kit have a special name or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated, my tries on google have lead me nowhere, maybe I'm just being a bit thick but I have to ask! Cheers!
