  1. right well i cant find much information about my bike anywhere as its a jap grey import, well i assume this is the reason, but how much oil will i need for my bike? also iv been told its the same filter as a vfr400 nc30, is this right? and just to check it is 10w40 i need for my bike isnt it? i could really do with buying a workshop manual thanks in advancce
  2. id say youv got an air leak somewhere have a look for splits in your manifold and check the airfilter and box is in good condition and fitted correctly

  4. well my top ends a bit noisy and knocks so my first guess is its the valve clearances need aadjusting, but i cant anywhere find what the valve clearances should be for my xj400 1991, i cant even find them for a xj600 which is an english model, and i dont want to pay £30 for a haynes for a 600 when its not even for my engine so does anyone know what they should be and if they can be adjusted or if i need special tools as all i could find is about the xs400 which needs valve adjusting pads or something but its a completely different engine, any help will be appreciated, adam
  5. alright cheers, the clutch doesnt seem to be dragging at all but ill try it anyway and normally it just go into neutral when im stopping but sometimes when i have to stop in a short distance i dont have time to get it into neutral thanks
  6. just a little problem thats getting anoyying, my bike doesnt like going from first to neutral when its running and not moving, its fine but a little stiff when im rolling and its also ok when the engine isnt running.is this normal or do i have a problem here because i wouldnt think its normal, thanks for any help. forgot to mention, if you get it up to second when its running and not moving it goes in ok from second

  8. iv had that cap off and its just a cap not a dipstick though, surely the gearbox oil and the engine oil are seperate aswell as there different kinds?
  9. right this might sound really stupid but where is the dipstick on my diversion 400? obviously iv found the window for the gearbox oil but for the life of me i cant find the engine oil dipstick anywhere, i think its the same engine as the older fazers if this helps atall? any helps appreciated
  10. id say your rollers will need replacing but its all down to millage and how you ride it when i had my blaster i was going through rollers every months, and if it does it every time you pull away from a standstill its more then likely the fact the clutch springs are to soft so it is trying to pull off in the lower revs where the engine just doesnt have enough power, if this is the case you will need to get some stiffer springs as they cant be adjusted on these clutches, although it is quiet a fiddly job,
  11. cheers not to sure what you mean by the possitioning though but i assume its a compliment it now has a speedo aswell its going up in the world
  12. easiest way to find out is to get the rollers out and check for flat spots, how old are the rollers? does it have this problem when it pulls off? if it does all the time it could be that the springs in the clutch are to soft

  14. cable ties are only temp untill i make some brackets as i needed it for college and its facing the sky atm :/ im just interested in what can be done easily as its a commute and i dont really like the backend
  15. well im looking for a newer shape fairing for the rear of my xj as the old one looks well, dated, does anyone know of any fairings that would fit straigt off or not require to much modification, im thinking new fz or sv or just generally anything that wont look so old, any help will be appreciated
