  1. yes, i checked that. this was my first go at changing the oil and oil filter on my bike and i think it went well. however, now my bike is not idling properly. i'd say i just need to clean out the carb (and there is loads of info on this forum) but could there be any relation to the changing of the oil and oil filter? i would say not but it just seems strange that this would happen soon after i changed the oil... ?
  2. i had the same thought. just replaced my oil filter and was concerned that it wasn't sitting flush. would it make a big difference if it was misaligned?
  3. Hello, I have a 2004 SR 250. Recently the front brakes have begun to squeak when I pull them faily sharply. When i pull them gradually this is not the case... Any idea as to why and how I can resolve this? Thanks Grant
  4. hello, thanks for your tips. the oil used for the crankcase was 20w/50 multigrade. i phoned the yamaha dealers in my city and they say that this is what they use for sr250s. will adjust the clutch and check the cable to see if i can sort it out. thanks again, grant
  5. Hello, I have a 2004 Yamaha SR 250. I have recently changed the oil and cleaned tappets and the engine sounds great and has a lot of power. When I start accelerating it is fine but when I accelerate fully the clutch slips and the bike sometimes misfires. Is this serious? Do the clutch plates need changing? Or is it just a matter of adjusting the clutch settings and if so, how do I do this? Any advice would be great as I am new to the bike. Thanks, Grant
