I can take some for you when it comes back from the garage. The mechanics seem to have messed something up. It has a custom wiring loom the previous owner made. To be honest, it's a bit of a mess and it does need re wiring or just tidying with new connectors. However, they managed to pull something out and now they cant get any power. They spent ages trying to fix that instead of cleaning my carbs and getting it to run richer. Hoping they won't charge me for the wiring problems as it worked when I left it there.

Hey thanks very much. I just put it in the shop today for a carb rebuild and possibly new jets, a couple of runs on the dyno and some new tyres.

I have problems finding parts for my 88 Genesis sometimes. Anyone know any Exup parts which will or wont fit? I am wondering about front disks, front wheel, petrol pump, petrol tank and an engine changeover as mine doesn't seem like it is going to last much longer I was thinking about swapping to the exup engine, don't know how realistic this is though. Cheers everyone

I haven't ever seen an exup before so i'm not sure. I am trying to find out if the exup engine will fit the genesis with little or no mods.

Hey thanks, it is from a Triumph 1050 I believe with the 190 back tyre and the seat unit and subframe is from a 916. Most of the prep work was done when I bought it, but it was a bit of a fiddle getting alignment right.

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I have my first Yamaha. I bought an FZR on the cheap in bits. It had almost everything with it I wanted on a custom bike. I can tell you now I am having some annoying but maybe not serious problems. First of all I had to re bleed the front brakes, that is sorted. The wiring loom wasnt earthed properly, horn didn't work, speedo wasnt wired up (electronic), headlight was still in the box, swingarm hadn't been fitted, radiator needed fitting and needed MOT. If you look at the pics you will see it is all going fairly well. The swingarms on, the lights are on, rad and all that jazz. I have a question though, are the 88 Genesis models supposed to have a fan with the radiator? Because I didn't get one. I can't find my thermostat switch either. MOT is done. I was balancing the carbs today, this was taking a while on a really hot day and I noticed something hot on my leg, water was flying out of the overflow, I'm guessing this is because it is too hot and also maybe it is because I don't have a fan? So far the bike has been driving me crazy! Piccys:

I wouldn't put K&Ns on. I bought my FZR 1000 with them already fitted and they have given me so many problems. I can't find a orig airbox and I don't want to rejet as I want to take it back to standard, for now I have had to use axtra filter foam and filter spray to restrict airflow.

I have a triumph single sider on mine, but it was deffinately not a slide on job. Cant be sure of R6 arms.
