May just be some crap in the switch. Strip it and examine/clean it. It's what i would do.

Just so you understand why you got the response you did from me.

Lol Cheers Drewpy
Good developments anyway!! The chap rang me back with the frame number and he's also popping into DVLA swansea on thursday
as he deals with bikes a fair old bit with buying and selling, some with books some without, which seems fair... But he did say he will
sort the V5 out for sure!
Anyway I just got off of the phone from Yamaha and I'm ever so slightly confused now... as that bike was first registered in 1989!!
So in a way I am even more pleased as it turns out the bike is a lot older than first thought!! Does raise some minor concerns as
the previous owner had no idea that it was a 1989 model lol.
However they also said that they could (for a £40 charge). Send me a proof of manufacture slip with the original registration number!
So It would make it even easier if the log book does not appear (I think it will).
Result! and one very happy 1989 DT 125 owner!!
Good to hear things are sounding positive. keep us informed

Hey and welcome to the forum.
Nice looking DT
When i had my frame powder coated at Triple-s (proper bike coaters and far from numpties) the coating was so thick you couldn't read the frame number easily, personally i preferred it that way to having a coating too thin.

I have one of those Airoh s4, different colour. Gets very noisy above 50, comfy and good vision for a motocross style. They work well in a crash too
-
crz, how do you get away with the reg plate inside the bike?
Probably doesn't ride it much .
Welcome to the forum btw.

A friend of mine had an aerox, and was not impressed with the power, so he bolted on a 70cc kit, bigger carb, differant rollers, exhaust and a performance filter. have a look into this
https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/index2.htm
http://www.stage6.fr...og-english.html
http://shop.ebay.ie/...&_nkw=70cc+kits
there was a noticable gain in power!
And at a guess a noticeable shortening in the life expectancy, as is the case usually when getting more power from a scoot/bike. But given that scooters are more or less designed as disposable machines (3-4 year life expectancy??) then it is going to have a greater effect than tunning a bigger cc machine IMO.

Hi and welcome to the forum
-
thanks for the help
also i believe that i have to inform dvla of any colour change of the bike
but i am confused, what if i had my bike with black fairings but white tank and mudguard
what colour do i need to have my v5 changed to? what would be the main and secondary colour?
thanks
Jake
That sounds like a tricky area to me. maybe phone the DVLA and ask them, probably the safest bet. Do post any info you find though because i would like to know too

hi there, anyone know of any websites that sell dt125re plastics and custom graphic kits?
any help will be much appreciated
thanks
Jake
Get the feeling you have asked this before, i may be wrong though
Graphics http://www.ddgraphics.co.uk/index.php/cPath/2_24?osCsid=0a13c914fa2448971613290617b7cf82 D&D
Plastics http://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/modelImage.asp?modelID=9029 AJSutton
Any Yamaha dealer will probably be cheaper than AJSuttons, i know 100% that Manchester Extreme are because i bought some for my bike last year, but they don't show prices on the internet, you have to phone and order them, http://www.manchesterxtreme.co.uk/

idn men its all trial n error for me just took the dirty blunt edges off n smoothened dem down as best i could
Inlet ports on 2-strokes are supposed to have a fine dimpled surface, much like a golf ball, which traps a thin layer or air on the surface which allows the air/fuel mixture to pass over it alot faster than it would with a smooth polished surface.

I wouldnt recommend a pod syle filter if thats what you are considering.
More trouble than they're worth getting it set up right.
+1
DTR's do not like K&N's. A pipercross or similar original foam style one works better IME.
And what do you mean by "flowed the inlet" ?

Mine has been pretty good, was originally a brunette but the sun does damage things and so some touching up is needed to remove the greyer patches from the trim so has some red go faster stripes added in and it does have some extra padding for those long distance rides, getting wet or cold seems to be a real problem though now.
I have had little trouble otherwise. It has been central to the creation of two next gen models for the future.
