  1. I'm a bit slow off the mark, but I'm on there now )
  2. information, position, speed, gear, accelerate.

  3. I have a small scratch on my blue mirrord visor from hitting a fly or something, its right infront of my eyeline which is annoying. is there anything I can use to repair the scratch?
  4. Today was beautiful so I took my bike and did a lap of lake Windermere in the lakes. The twisty country back roads hopefully improving my riding skills, although is was difficult to keep my eyes off the gorgeous ladies wearing very little clothing to make the most of the weather. I think I'll do the same again tomorrow the scenery is stunning and as a new rider I need lots of cornering practice.
  5. I've got the time off work but too late to get a ticket for the ferry. My gf now wants to come with me so we're going to the ferry port and I'm going to try and blag our way onto a ferry. If we don't make it we'll head off somewhere else in the UK for a hol. wish me luck :-)
  6. I've not booked it yet but I checked last night online and there was still plenty of availability. Not cheap though is it!?
  7. I'm heading to the Isle of Man TT to see the races on the 6th and/or 12th June traveling the day before (5th and/or 11th) I'll be travelling from the lakedistrict and I've never been before. is there anyone who can offer me advice or who will be going and doesn't mind me tagging along? Cheers, Mark
  8. I have a spare ticket to tomorrows BSB, I'm going but my buddy has been whipped by his missus. If anyone would like to come with me I'm giving the ticket away. I'll reply as soon as I can. you can email me [email protected] or I'll reply on here. Mark

    new lad

Hi John, Like you I'm new to bikes, I'd never been on one before doing my CBT in December. Passed my test in March and got my second hand R6 straight away. It's my pride and joy, I clean it every week and I'm always looking for nice days to take her for a ride. I put a post on here about how to improve my riding and had a lot of good feedback, the first thing I did was get on my local 3 day "Bike Safe" course; its free, run by the police and you get loads of freebies (dvd's, buff, beanie, books) its well worth it. After a lot more practice I'll do the advanced rider course. Enjoy you bike

    CLEANING

When you say you've taken it apart, what do you mean? I've never removed anything from my bike and just clean the exterior and spray any metal with WD40. I know nothing about mechanics and don't want to ruin my bike by having parts dropping off while I'm riding down the street, but do I need to learn how to take off certain parts to maintain my bike properly? I have an '07 R6 and my dealer said that even the oil and break fluid wont need touching, they'll look after it on its service dates. Help.
  12. Does anyone know where to buy a decent radar and laser detector for my R6? There are already enough speed cameras, but you learn where these are, now there are more portable speed camera vans and the hand held speed guns around my town. I still have a clean licence and I'm a careful rider but if I'm being monitored everywhere I go its only a matter of time until they start lining their pockets with my hard earned cash. If only there was a way to combat the Average speed cameras too.

    Just passed!

Wow, great advice guys I've started to take notes and I like the sound of more training. One thing I didn't expect to happen when I passed my bike test was how many friends I'd make. I rode down to Bolton today and I got talking to complete strangers about bikes; not only that but every time I passed another biker there was a friendly exchange of nods (not from kids on scooters, but everyone else was very pleasent) I feel very humbled and part of a huge organisation. Cheers everyone Parkey5

    Just passed!

Awesome. Cheers ShoKz, oldgitonabike and HalHark for your fast and helpful replies, I look forward to keeping you up to date with how I get on, people I meet and the experiences I have. Nothing will keep me off my bike at the moment. I'm braving my first long trip down to Bolton tomorrow, I'm planning lots of coffee breaks on the way. Keep in touch. Parkey5
