  1. Just Phone Yamaha mate, they should help you out, other than that check the frame/headstock for codes. If your not sure which code it is, Google it

A decent plastic glue should work, make sure surface is spotless, once you've glued them just use gaffer/duck tape over the top for extra hold, although the duck tape might be sufficient alone. bear in mind you might find it hard to get them off in the future should you need to, ie to put footrests back on! Bit suprised the sticky pads didn't do the job in 1st place.
  3. Not sure mate, closest I had to the dx was the RD 400 Google it, bound to find something somewhere, Or you could e-mail one of the top bike mags, Fastbikes/superbike mag/performance bikes. the bike is very old in comparison to what they write about but one of them should have the answer Or you could contact your local dealer. What i would do is fit them, you'll soon know if it's a no go

    R6 or R1...?

Sounds very BIASED to me, Ducati dont become bad overnight, I'm sure there are many riders who would disagree with you there "TERRIBLE handling" "POOR power delivery" "absolute PANTS" hmm. Perhaps it's just not your kind of bike!
  6. doesn't suprise me, they didn't join Grand Prix racing till 2003, to my recollection they never contended in the 2 stroke era and quite frankly haven't made any impact at all, including S/Bikes

Yeah cheers mate, sounds like the fitting is the same as 06/07 model, you had to take the same parts off to get to it. Just ordered mine

    R6 or R1...?

I agree with the "Mechanical Masterpeice" As I mentioned in WSB/BSB (I would say AMA as well but they do love they're Suzuki's) every other Manufacturer will probably be playin catch-up like they were when the 1st R1 came out. But this bike is pig ugly, what would you rather have, a great looking bike that does does everything you want it to or a bike that does NO more than want it to and looks bad to boot. P.S I never intended that the Ducati 848 is a match for the new R1, it's only in the supersport class. The new Ducati 1198 will however be more than a match on track, thats where the extra pennies are spent

    R6 or R1...?

The question has to be - Why would anyone want the 2009 R1? Dont get me wrong its a probably goin to be one to beat in WSB/BSB etc. but (this is my opinion) the 2009 R1 has to be the weirdest looking bike made for years. If you have to upgrade at all (which is a bit hasty after only a years riding experience) go for the 08 R1. I have 18 Years road & off road experience and the R6 is ample, How much can you spend? what about the Ducati 848 (1098 lookalike). Bit more money, but cheaper and much nicer than the new R1 and you get all the race bits as standard

    08 R6 Questions

A- Bought my 2008 R6 in June, Tried to get blanking plates for pillion footrest from day one, was told by "YAMAHA" they would look into it. Went to the NEC Bike show in December- Headed straight to the Yamaha Stand and spoke to one of their guys who informed me that "Yamaha" will NOT be making this part (something to do with fitting clearance) different design to that of the 06-07 model. Anyway, as soon as i was told this info i headed straight for the POWERBRONZE stand and spoke to their MD about a possible gap in the market, He told me with absolute certainty these can be made and advised me e-mail their website with this problem, Powerbronze have spoken to me in person and will look into this in the new year. all they need is an R6 08 to fabricate the plastics!!!! Will post more news on this topic as soon as i hear from them.
