  1. that's not really fair, choppers don't look like cg's, they copied choppers, trying to be something they're not, i think all cg's should fuckin blow up, sorry
  2. hi guys, in the middle of kicking the xv250's arse, i know these engines are capable of going like stink, so rebuilding. am i the only one or has anyone else noticed the air filters are either non existant or taking the piss on price? tip for others aswell, highway hawk air filter covers and punch out the plastic so it's a open grill, breathes much better
  3. hi, first i'd renew your oil, let the bike warm up before you drop the oil though, as the other guys said, check the carb manifolds and if they're ok you'll need to clean out your fuel system as it only takes a single grain of sand to cause this, gimme a shout if you get stuck
  4. hiya chap, my advice is unless you've ridden these sort of bikes, ride it first, cause you can quickly end up deciding you changed something for the wrong thing. the first chop i changed, i hadn't got to know it properly and made a right mess of it and it then took me another three attepmts to get it right. the third time, i thought about it, and spent a good month on it flat out and doubled the horse power and nothing of it was original and it cost a lot. in fact it would've been cheaper for me to go out and buy the bike again. these days i can do pretty much anything cheap, but i had to make the cock ups first to learn. like i said lad, do about 200 miles (not neccesaraly in one go) and think about it while you're riding, doing this i discovered i like unlimited power but in the laziest posistion possible. hope this helps
  5. hiya chap, it's not really worth it, but if you have two single open exhausts with baffles fitted and do away with the old system, costing about 300 quid, it helps a hell of a lot, and it stops rot in the collector box too. aswell, fitting a performance air filter and changing the sprokets, but you will also have to tune it to stop it cutting out or as someone else said, it will just cut out, hope this helps
