  1. It sounds like an overfuelling problem. Does it tick over lumpy? Is the air filter clean? Have you tried cleaning out the float bowl or the needle valve on the float as it could be allowing too much fuel into the float chamber and flooding it.
  2. Anyone else have problems contacting ebike insurance. Seems that the complaints sites are full of problems! Took them 2 days to answer a query. Not exactly service.
  3. Overheating is usually a weak mixture. It could be that it has pulled some dirt or gum (old petrol) down into the carbs and blocked (or partially blocked) a jet. Make sure that the fuel is new (ie drain tank of old fuel) and thoroughly clean and blow through the jets with compressed air to clean (use eye protection).
  4. Steak? Is that joined up meat then?
  5. Try here for prices:- http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=508769 Fitting can sometimes be a pain as some switches are fitted with shear bolts (they shear when put in and have to be drilled out). Best of luck Mike
  6. If your bike lives outside it could just be the damp weather. Try a dose of WD40 on the leads.
  7. I sorted it! I had put the bulb holder in on "the wonk"! Forty years of experience with motors and I do an apprentice error! Wo is me! Senility here I come!
  8. It could be the float levels set too high causing a rich mixture, coils cutting out when hot, poor battery (alternator giving better charge at higher revs-stronger spark) or dodgy plugleads.
  9. On dip, the filament has a small mirror which only allows light to go to one side of the reflector. This then (on this bike) lights up only the right hand side of the road! (Should be the left hand side for UK)
  10. Thanks but no! The surround is held by one screw on the lower offside. The bulb appears to fit only one way due to the siting of the lugs on the lampholder and the reflector. I'll have a good study at it over the weekend to see if I can suss it out. Mike
  11. Hi, Mike here, We put a new headlight bulb in the RXS100 project and the light works fine on full beam but illuminates to the right on dipped.(This is in a drive on the left country situation-UK) The sidelight is in the bottom part of the reflector and the bulb was put in as offset mounting showed correct. Surely it should dip to the left? Have I been sent foreign style (right dip) bulbs or am I missing something here?
  12. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  13. I can light the parking lights when the key is in P position and bars locked to extreme left. Indicators work with ignition to on position but main beam and dip only work when the engine is running. Mike
  14. I'll have to have another check on that. I will post when I get back to the bike. Many thanks.
  15. They lost my minibus entitlement but I wasn't too bothered as I used to have to take rowdy teenagers in a bus but had an excellent excuse when I was asked to do it again!
  16. Sorry. Mike here and thanks for your reply! I can't seem to get the lights to work on the RXS without the engine running and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong or missing a switch or whatever, or is that how they normally run?
  17. Recently bought an RXS100 project. The lights only work when the engine is running. Is this normal or am I missing something?
