  1. Not to pick on you because I don't know your expertise with these old two stoke motorcycles but just because the carburator looks clean don't mean it is. There are small passages that can't be seen visually. Make sure they are all clean and pass carb cleaner and then replace all rubber "bits" within the carburator assembly. Carburators must be clean and tuned correctly. If you were close to me I would fix your bike for you. Have you taken a compression test ? Does you engine sound normal while on idle?
  2. Coil assembly, E bay or I have some extra's Air fliter with cage, Unifilter Silencer, E Bay or aftermarket Side plates, e bay, DC Plastics or I might can help you. Front plate, DC PLastics, Jakes Garage, or E Bay Fenders, DC Plastics or E Bay Tank decal, try YAMATOPDOG (Speed and Sport) Rear Brake level, on E Bay often or I could help you.
  3. Alright then, as said in another thread. It is time to disassemble the carburator and clean.
  4. Will it run any better with the choke on, sounds fuel related.
  5. Can't replace just the wire, they are sealed within the coil.
  6. On the web site it says, If you don't see what you need send us an E Mail. They show the oil tank decal for the DT1 so maybe they can help you. Your bike is pretty rare so it might be interesting finding that decal. I have a 1969 AT1 that I have yet to start on.
  7. Fuel Tank, E Bay Carburator, E Bay or Sudco Swing arm bushings, Yamaha Dealer Tires, JC Whitney Wiring Harness, E Bay or I can make you one. Good luck, I love that bike. I have a NOS Luggage Rack for that bike.

  9. Jim we don't have those bikes here, actually the 2 stroke motorcycle is nearly gone from the show room floor except for 2 motocross versions. Are you saying the piston top suface is 1 MM too tall for the cylinder? If so you can raise the cylinder which will also help exaust port timing. A friend of mine is building a land speed bike from a 1976 RD 60 in which he has sleeved down to a 50.
  10. They are no longer avaliable so just keep watching ebay, they do show up quite often. The DT100 uses the same cover. I do have some extra's but I am on the other side.
  11. Jim,yes the bore and stroke are the same 52x45.6 the LT2 is a piston port and the DT is a reed valve engine. The piston's are still avaliable here in the USA for the LT2, However I don't use cast pistons. You are correct however the Dt piston can be modified to work.
  12. Don't forget to check the handle switch. Could be corroded or broken. If it is the headlight connector will not have any power to it.
  13. The DT and the LT are totally different engines, Lights, watch E Bay, engine bearings, your local Yamaha dealer.
  14. I would go ahead and change all the crank bearings, if one is hurt they all are.
  15. Pull the head and tell me if you have a hole in the piston. Send pictures.
  16. Vintageconnections.com or you can watch E Bay. NOS harnessses show up there often.
  17. There is one correct way to work on these bikes and many wrong ways. Four strokes do have their place in this world.
  18. All of my two stroke bikes have between 140 - 150 psi of compression on three kicks.
  19. I will asked another one, is there any 2 stroke oil in the oil tank?
  20. It could be a number of things, If you were close to me I would help you out.
  21. Wagner makes lights that will work in your bike. 6 volt 30 watt.
  22. True, but in his "Cliff notes" He says "Now it won't turn over" I quess you see where I was going.
  23. Do you mean the engine will not kick over. Is the kick starter still turning the engine over.
