ok i know the carb is clean i check the jet and its clear the carb is fine guarnteed i cant tell what it is for sure i started it got it to rev and all fien i go to drive first gear is fine and then 2nd gear just cuts out....... it does sound like it is misfireing but the plug seems to have a good spark

i have stripped and cleaned the carb to no problems there?? any other ideas

no it runs the same with the choke on..... i would like some advice lol

bike ran fine then started to bog down and now it will only idle if you give it gas or try to rev the engine it just bogs down then dies???? plenty of gas from petcock and what not any ideas?

there is a great fuel flow from petcock i just dont understand gas flow seems good it idles fine but once i go to give it gas aka rev the enginge it just bogs down and stalls unless i let off the gas

hello bike was running fine today and it started bogging down... i checked the carb and it was fine put it back on started it up and it will idle and shit but when u rev it nothing happens??? it just bogs down and dies any ideas?

i have a Yamaha gt80 79 and i used to have one and cant seem to rember the name of the tool used to test your bikes compression!

i recently received a 1979 Yamaha gt80 and it ran Sunday and Monday fine Tuesday i pulled it out and it wouldn't star???? i cleaned the carb and all that check the spark plug and its sparking and what not gas is going into the carb so i know that's working i know its not a seized piston.... but i cant figure out whats wrong. i thought compression but that makes no since considering it ran the previous 2 days. i would really appreciate some help and advice thanks.

Hello, do a compression check! alot of people say that once it starts compresion dosnt matter it builds up.... which is true but if your compression is low this is why it takes for ever to warm up and allow you to throttle also if the carb is rebuilt im guesseing its fine but i would still pull the carb off and give it a good cleaning that might be the problem. check that stuff out and let me know if it helped.

i am using the choke lol....... i will check to see if the reed blocks are soiled? the garage is trashed lol so im gonna clean it up big time tommrow and work on the bike this weekend so if yall can leave me some helpfull post advice on what to look at let me know lol any advice on getting it to start would help... i was thinking it may be an electrical problem somewhere else grounding it out after the spark but i dont know how that would happen so if anyone can leave me some ideas to look into please do im workintg on it this weekend

bought it sunday! Drove it monday ran fine! tuesday the bike wouldnt run i cleaned the carb the carb is getting fuel the spark plug is sparking and it turns over when u kick! i have tried to push start it and it didnt work. does anyone know why it wouldnt be working? its not a seized piston is it? im so confused on why it wont start
