  1. Sorry but the 05 R1 does not have a choke as its Fuel Injected not carbs Run some Fuel Injector cleaner through the fuel system in case one of the injectors has got a bit of crap out the fuel tank in it. Other than that get your self a Service/Repair CD of ebay or a Haynes manual from your local library & go through the fault finding, or you could take it down to your local Yam dealer workshop & ask them to put it on there diagnosis kit to check it out for you.
  2. you should have been down Boxhill May bank holiday, of the 10 bikes i was with 8 got pulled & fined for small number plates. Found out later that the local council had requested the heavy police prescence, because of bikes speeding through local villages ect & thr local busybodies not able to read the plates.
  3. Take it from what you have posted that you will be riding pillion, if so RELAX, tell your boyfriend to take it easy to start with & agree some sort of signalling, so if you want him to speed up, slow down pull over ect you both know what signals to give/receive. Best advice can give you is get him to fit a Triboseat cover to stop you sliding about on the pillions seat. & enjoy the experience, who knows you make like enough to get your licence & pinch his R1 Oh & welcome
  4. You can do either, but you may want to remove the cat from the Y piece to get the best from your Akro cans. Or do the same as me & de-baffle the standard cans & de cat the standard Y piece (end up with basically a straight through system ). For a fraction of the cost. But as you have brought the Akro cans why not get the Y piece to go with them ???

    r6 help please!!

Try checking your Regulator/Rectifier, they are known to fail sometimes without any warning. Look at the white multi plug that connects to it, if you see any burnt terminals, then sods law says your regulator/rectifier has burnt out, replace it & you should be ok. Can be found bolted to front of battery box, looks like a square box with fins on outside face. You may have to fit spade connectors in place of the multi plug, depending of severity of damage to multi plug & wiring. Have had the same problem on wifes old ZXR400 & a m8 had the same problem on his 02 R1. Hope you sort out your probs
  6. Cheers Chris, yep have considered a Haynes, but needed it urgently as in middle of wiring in an alarm, & her R6 has had an alarm wired in in past & was removed by previous owner by just cutting all the wires & taping them up (some of the wires are still permament lives ) Have managed to locate a EU wiring diagram from a link of here to a repair manual site, that should get me out of the crap.
  7. Had mine on a dyno at CMC on there Dyno open day, got 149.10 BHP, 173 MPH at back wheel with standard cans de-baffled & a standard Y piece de-catted. bike ran a bit rich they told me to have a PC3 fitted & custom mapped to improve BHP & running. (must say it sounds wicked on over run with all the popping/banging)
  8. Hi all, as it say in the heading, looking for a correct UK spec wiring diagram for a 52 plate R6, that the wifes has recently brought. Seem to be able to find loads of places that do the wiring diagram, but they are all for US/Canadian spec bikes not UK ones, can anyone help me out. all help will be gratefully accepted. Cheers Bob.
