  1. Bought my little 125 dragstar from a guy in milton keenes the other sunday. drove it 176 miles home to the wirral averaging around 50 to 60 mph all the way. saw loads of countryside and beautifull villages which I'd never have seen from the motorway. the sun was out, no wind, perfect. great day out. got home to find that there was no oil in the engine at all!!!! always check your levels no matter what size your bike is. 4. Sorry mate, a friend of mine who used to organise many of the british rallies "bull dog" etc, moved away to Calpi in spain about two years ago and openrd a tattoo shop in Calpi, I was hoping you were he as I've been trying to contact him over somthing quite important for the last 6 months. Any way, nice choice of bike, I enjoy my little 125cc Draggy, but I've got to ask why didn't you go for the 650 as it's not that much dearer? I'm stuck with my little one because I've finally decided to be a grown up (at 46 years of age!) I rode for years without a test cert' then had a rest for 18 years, now I'm going for a test and hope to be able to find a v star 650 ASAP. I appreciate it's your choice and really none of my business, but you get so much more with the bigger bike. Oh and welcome to the club. All the best OGRi
  5. Hey Strider is that you in Calpi with Mags? If so...... I've just got the 125 draggy. If that is you let me know how your doin' you ugly git. OGRi Redcaps
  6. Hi mate, I've been hunting around myself and either everything costs an arm and a leg ( Highway Hawk or highway robbery) or what ever site your on sends you round in ever decreasing circuls untill it vanishes up its own back side! BUT dont forget that if you do find a site which covers most "Star" components anything to do with body work or frame and most cables for that matter you can usually get away with using XVS 250 accessories. After all you've actually got a 250cc with a 125 engine in it. Hope this helps a bit and dont forget if you do find any good sites let me know too. Cheers OGRi

    Ogri's back

Firstly I hope to be able to follow up with pic's of me on bog seat ( possibly not a pretty sight). I've had a look at the carb from the outside as one of the other members thought that there might be extra spacers for want of a better description, but thinking about it, with these extra spacers in place the carb wouldn't sit right between the heads. Will have a look inside asap. Might just be a case of lifting the needle a notch, that might help. Also some one else suggests that there may be a null pipe in the exhausts which can be sealed off to increase preasure, but I'm afraid this might be a little beyond my expertize. Any way I'll keep everyone posted just incase I come up with the answer as loads of drag tar owners apear to be trying to find out how to de restrict. Missed this years egg run, but will be there next year with out fail Going on a run on Sunday down to LLangollen so the wife will want me around Monday but thanks for the offer, maybe next time. In the mean time any info would be more than appreciated. Enjoy Monday whilst I'm stuck at home. All the best Ogri

    Ogri's back

Just caled in to say Hi to anyone who remembers Ogri from the Wirral back in the 70s/80s. After sporning a couple of sproggs I'm sort of back!? Suddenly realized I never passed my full ticket so I had to take a CBT on a 50cc step through of all things. Can you imagine me 19 stone of relaxed muscle on a bog seat in my old 70's cross over leather? Any way managed to get hold of a 125 drag star so that it didn't look too small under me, every thing else looked like I had a roller skate stuck to my arse. So If you see a red drag star with a big bloke in an old 70's leather buzzin' around the Wirral area, It's Ogri. Nod or even pull me over and say allo. Whilst I'm at it, how the hell do you de restrict these things as 19 stone keeps me at around 65 with the wind behind me, down hill? ll the best Ogri
  9. Ogri he say" What chapter you in D head ?" He also say" He who pisses on another Bro's dreams usually does it 'cos his manhood is too small to piss on anything else!" PS Does your car also help to make up for your pecker size? PPS Nice to talk with one of our colonial buddies who owns a bike which is an old "indian" copy. God bless America !
  10. Anyone need a YAS1 bottom end, heads, barrels? I've been rooting about in the shed and found a full bottom end, spare crank, a couple of heads and barrels sets and the pistons could be around here some where. I'm looking for about £90 the lot but don't be afraid to haggle. They were off my first ever bike (MABEL) who was taken sadly from me when my elderly parents moved house a few years ago. She had been packed in oiled bags waiting for a re build, then .............THE SCRAPPY GOT HER!!! She always carried a donor card, so I'm going to carry out her final wishes and find her bits a good home. If you're interested email or call me on 0151 639 2182 (ask for Brian) after 6pm please
  11. TOO BIG MY ARSE!! ( POSSIBLY? ) I know I'm just a newbie to this club site and I'm supposed to mind me manners, but If I can fit comfortably onto one of these things then any one can. I'm an impressive 19 stone of relaxed muscle ( and god only knows what that is in kilo's ) and I've just picked up the same bike as you last week end. Rode it home from Milton Keans to Wallasey near Liverpool (176 miles ) , kept to a steady 60mph ( actually hit 75mph with a prevailing wind, down hill. ) wieght to power ratio not too much of a problem I'd say. The lanky legs might prove to be a problem though. Ive only a 29" inside leg ( no puns please ) and I found that the bike fitted me fine. I do think it could do with de restricting to save on engine wear. So if anyone knows the secret, let me know. the best thing you could do is ask for a test drive and try to cover the distance you would usually cover when comuting. If it's comfy buy one, if not you might be better off getting a trialy instead. My mate Andy has just had a go ( he's 6'2" ) but his legs are roughly the same size as his body. He says it's OK for him. Maybe it's a body to legs size ratio problem to be addressed. Good luck & all the best Ogri
