Just joined. Hi to everyone. Recently moved back over here from South Africa. I have owned a few bikes in my years most of them offroad. The Yamaha models have been IT490 , 2x IT465, IT250 , DT175, XJ650 and YZF400. Been a Yamaha fan for years. Due to never getting a licence i am now on a Yamaha Cygnus 125cc. But hope to change all of that and go for my licence this year. Would love to own an old XT500.

My name is Aubrey. I live in Kimberley and own a XT1200Z or Super Tenere. What a awesome machine. I've had it for four years now and have done about 35000Km on it with a 50/50 tar and gravel. Seen a lot of South Africa on its back and it till date has never missed a beat. I had A 1200 Sportster Harley before the Yamaha and did 83000km on that one since 2005 to 2013. I have been riding bike since 1972. What a ride. Well that's me. Enjoy Aubrey

Just popped in to say hi. I am hoping i can find a missing part for my Dt125 lc 1986 the left hand switch gear. It was an old farm bike rusty but complete apart from some toe rag stole the carb top?. Luckily u can get chinese copys for a few pounds. Just used the top part and kept the mikuni in place. The exhaust is a mess of welding everything is rusty especially the wheels. It is painted in a weird colour scheme of green and white plastics with a green frame.A mouse had setup home in the airbox how it managed to squeeze thru the gap. The nest was right thru to the carb nice cleaning job. My plan is to run it as a road legal rat bike. So need a solution for the switch ge…

I just wanted to say hi and see if I could post photos of my bikes: https://app.photobucket.com/u/ma701apm/p/659406d1-bb50-4725-a186-59ee66ffc0ce no Idea if this'll work. I currently ride a SR125 but Im transitioning to a XT125R which I am led to believe has the YBR125 engine. I picked up the bike second hand and in parts and I now have a running bike, but I cant find any XT125R speedos so that will be a fun conversion. Nice to meet you all...

Just one week to go, then I collect my first ever Yamaha. Been riding since 1979, mostly Honda and Triumph, but have been seduced by a BT1100. Currently riding a Triumph Tiger 995i, so just a little bit different. Never having owned a Yamaha, there may well be some questions, not too many I hope. I do all my own maintenance and servicing, so looking forward to the mix of new, and old tech. Here's to the future, and further biking adventures Cheers Stu

Afternoon! I've just won a Yamaha YZF R125 on ebay Having just passed my CBT I thought I might as well buy something sporty seeing as I come from an MR2 Turbo, Celica GT and Celica GT4 background! The bike's got 5000 miles on the clock, I won it for the princely sum of £2251 I'm wondering if there's anything major coming up service wise at that mileage? I think the sprockets and chain where changed at the last service (sometime late last year) Any other info on performance improving upgrades and so on would be sweet. Also, what're bar none the best tyres available in the recommended sizes for the stock wheels? Money isn't really an object (wit…

Hi to all, listed a question yesterday, as did not know the etiquette of thw website - so apologies ! Bought a DT 125 MX about a year or so ago now, did some research on it found it due to frame it should have been a 175, it belonged to the forestry commission so never on the road. Put it back now to a 175 and now am going to try to get it on the road ! With advice from members please ! Andrea
