  5. Started by siblo,

Hey you guys.....((in a deep yet childlike voice, like the fat kid from The Goonies)) Just got a YBR125 a few weeks ago. its a 57 plate in Black. I used to ride many years ago but progressed to a car when family needs dictated it. Now I've downsized my car to free up cash so I can start riding again. Retaken my CBT last month and hoping to progress to something bigger but not in any rush. I'm hoping to maintain it myself so will probably be asking for help and advice along the way. There's already a few questions, to be asked so I'll probably see you in the forums. Thanks In Advance SI

I have just purchased my first bike, a Yamaha XJ550 Maxim (1981 yr). It is missing all its carburettors. I am having difficult in finding Yamaha carbs as replacement. Can anyone recommend how I go about buying a new set of carbs and how I tell which sets would fit the bike? Thanks

  12. Hello to all members! My name is Alex, and I am now on my second yamaha, the first sadly met with an un-timed ending but we shall not speak about that, the second is a beauty from 1986, a yx radian 600cc, I picked it up along with a FZ600 (english counterpart) engine and frame for the grand price of £600, had about 30k miles on the clock at the time. This is my first "bigger" bike so to speak as although I have been driving several bikes for about 3 years, I have only just (4 months ago) passed my full test. A little about me, I love anything with a petrol engine, currently studing engineering at Uni, though am on a placement year at the moment. I was chatting t…

  13. An Introduction To Old Bike Rehab Or, in other words: What I've learned rebuilding my first motorcycle/ share your top tips for a 2 stroke rebuild and startup so it doesn't blow up and or short out the electrics. I live in southern Illinois, in the U.S. After being off two wheels for close to a couple decades I decided it was time to get back in the game. The main reasons I started looking for a bike again were good gas mileage for running around town and also a second vehicle in case of a car breakdown, or a zombie outbreak where I have to head for the hills. After much research, I settled on the DT series because I wanted something that I could work on myself. …

Hi all, My name is Ben and I am a bikeaholic First off, apologies. While I have a Honda CBR , I work for Edit DDT Link removed which is a site aimed at the SR400 and XT500 It actually took me until my late 20s before I even started riding, but now, living in Thailand, it's the only way to get around (even if it is bloody dangerous even going to the local shops). I don't want to get myself banned after the first post, so I hope this isn't seen as spam. I am looking to get myself an SR in the future and will probably end up with a paid subscription soon so that I can source more parts!

Hi all. names Chris and am new to biking completely. Bought my first bike yesterday at the ripe old age of 48. Mid life crisis ????? I have been around the bike scene for around 10 years of so going to rallies etc as a damn 4 wheeler, but have decided to do the decent thing and move over to the 2 wheeled side.. got a beautiful 7 year old Virago 125 which I hopefully collect in the next few days and so will be riding around the lovely flat roads of lincolnshire very soon.

  18. Greetings folks New member here so ill introduce myself, and my bike. Tony s my name, and as ya can guess from topic title, thats right im from Indiana USA The Bike is a 1979 XS 1100 Special. Got the bike just over 2 yrs ago (paid $650). After a mis diagnosis of blown head gasket (thank god for our local shop (Afterhours Autoshop). I replaced the air filter and shes runnin like a dream! Front brakes seemed to be a little sticky. decided i needed to bleed them, since it hadnt been run on the road for some time. 19. Started by Bakes,

Hey all, As the title, join date and post count suggests, I'm new here. Hello! I've only just started riding and picked myself up a lovely XVS125 which I will be looking to turn her into some kind of baby (only being a 125) bobber. Here is my little donor as she sits today.. .... and also a picture of how I want her to look (also a 125). Being frankly honest, I am totally useless and mechanical work of any kind. Like everyone though, I have to start somewhere. However, I am going to have to pay a company to do all the work for me. I know its a bit of a cop out but I just think I have the skill set or knoweldge to take on such work, yet. Just …

Hi,certainly not new to bikes, been riding since i was 15...that's a long time ago. But have been admiring the Japanese technology over tha past few years and am about ready to jump ship from the Harley world to the wonderful world of performance (extreme performance). I've been a drag race since 1961 and about as fast as I can make a Harley go is low 10s. Rode an R1 a buddy has and hit 130 so fast it scared me (the first time), awesome. Sportbike style is a little hard on my old wrists and shoulders but as my abs get better it gets better and better. I'm going to hang around of this forum and see if I can pick up a thing or two to add to my knowledge bank. Be ni…
