Hi, just wanted to say hello and ask for a bit of advice on saddle bags. Recently bought a 2010 Midnight Star 950 which is proving to be a great buy. Any tips on these at all? I've managed to get hold of a set of original Yamaha Leather saddle bags for it but, didn’t get the ‘pannier racks’ these saddle bags have 2 holes in the side and 2 at the bottom so I’m wondering of they were some sort of quick release ones? Any ideas where I can get a set of the correct pannier racks? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Steve

First post, I can't believe I have never been on this site before, I have had XS's for 17 years. Current bike XS 850 with a rebuild XS 850 just started, I bought it 12 years ago as someone's stalled project, for spares or rebuild and has been virtually untouched since. Lockdown has prompted a relook at it. This will be an 'economy' rebuild, I live in the far north of Scotland so don't get to many meetings although I did go to the Yorkshire Pudding Rally in 2017. Round trip of 930 miles, I was the only XS triple there. The highlight of my weekend was getting the bus into York for some 'culture' and a beer, (yes I am boring). Last year went to 'Thunder in the Glen'. …

Hi, I'm Dan. I live in Poole. I currently have a 2002 Thundercat which I've owned for 3 years since returning to 2 wheels after a lengthy lay off! I have just acquired a 2001 Thunderace which I bought from an auction site for not a lot of money. 12,000 miles but I think much UNloved. It starts on the button and runs well. Unfortunately, as I don't want to get wet, (I'm far too old for those shenanigans) I didn't get to ride it for a couple of weeks. However, one Sunday morning, the sun made an appearance so I decided to take it for a little spin. 10 miles later I'm back home and well pleased with the initial run once I'd put some proper air in the tyres! I did notice…

Hello from Banff Scotland. Working on an 97 sr125. Been riding a Honda NTV Trike the past few years and now want to return to 2 wheels but need to do the CBT first hence the sr125, should have don my bike test back in the days when you could ride a 250 on a provisional, but gave up biking for 40 years after my uncle was killed on my 20th birthday in a bike accident he was only 21 & he and I were like brothers. I'm excited to get out and ride and live again, so... here I am.

Hi, I have recently come about a slightly in need of TLC '97 SR 125, non runner and no papers - although I now have the registration and past history. I am still interested to work out my VIN from my short frame code and I'm not far off but not sure of the Assembly Plant letter - using 'A' at the moment Also I am using 10F00 for the Vehicle Descriptor Section which may also be a tad wrong well the 00 at then end is the bit in question. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Regards Lindsey

Ok, so that sounds a bit like an intro someone might use in a group therapy session! Fact is, I'm not ashamed to be a Bulldog owner, it's a great bike - seriously, I mean it... I've been a biker since 1977, I've owned many bikes from British vintage models (still do), Honda's, Ducati, Yamaha, modern Triumph and Moto Guzzi, and I have to say, the BT is probably the easiest one to get along with out of all of them. it's a well documented fact that the Bulldog is a plodder wrapped in go-faster styling with brakes that, well, brake really! The fact is though, every single ounce of power can be used without worrying that you're going to flip yourself (or your pillion…

Hello Well I have achieved a boyhood ambition and bought myself a Yamaha DT. Picked up a 2004 model RE with 9,000 miles on the clock. I am a complete and utter novice. Never ridden before but a new job and possible commute has given me a chance to justify the purchase. (Surprising the guvnor said I could get one...>I thought she would object) Got my CBT booked for Saturday, have done a taster session and absolutely loved it so fingers crossed it all goes well. Am based around Surrey and will be commuting to Putney. Am too old but since I wee lad I always wanted a red and white 125 DT but never really followed it through. Now I have a blue and white one but t…
