Hello everyone. I recently picked up a 1975 DT400 that has just a few quirks I am trying to get worked out. I am hoping to do most of the work myself, and have my fingers crossed that some of you have the know how to help! Thanks.

I'm a new rider. Picked up a 1982 Maxim (XJ650) for my first bike. I'm loving it and have picked it up quickly...riding that is. My question is, to those of your that have Maxims, what's the real gas mileage and tank size? My manual claims the tank will hold 3.4 gallons plus .9 gallons for reserve. I don't believe that one bit. So far, I've only been able to get about 100 miles before my bike concs out and I have to switch to reserve. When I fill it, it barely just barely will take 2.5 gallons. I think I'm going to run it dry in the next few days to see how long my reserve will last me. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi everyone, been watching the site for a number of months, had my XVS650 cruizer for only 6 months, and now decided high time to join. Riding a bike has been a dream for many years, now we are there, but I know nothing about bikes, and would appreciate help where needed. Thank you.

Hi Guys & Gals, Have been offered a totally dismantled tzr 250 3ma (I think)! and I fancy rebuilding it for a laugh. The only thing that concerns me is the availabatey of spares. Not really that worried about engine parts, it's more like the rubber groment for the fairing. Can anyone help this worry? Cheers Dave

  7. Hi folks, After too many years of not riding I decided to dig my trusty YPVS out of the garage over the weekend, and have been giving her a good clean and polish. I had thought of selling her, as I am getting a bit old and rounded to be doing daft things on bikes, but seeing her sleek black and red lines I might just rethink that one. It looks as if I will need to fix the fuel tap as it leaks when I try to turn it. I gather there are seals kits available so that should be easy enough to do. However, the aircraft style fuel filler cap is more of a mystery. The key turns, but the cap will not open. I have tried removing the Allen head screws, but these don…

Good morning all. I'm new to this site but I've had loads of yamaha motorcycles. Whether it be on road, dt or yz. I'm currently building a dt175mx. I think it's a 1978. I have no papers or registration documents but it has matching engine and frame numbers starting with 2A7. It'll be great if I can get it registered with a logbook.

Hello All, I'm new at this so please forgive me if I blunder. I recently made a trade for a 77 XS400 which was in parts. I'm a retired auto mechanic so I have some mechanical ability and was able to get everything back together and working. I'm going for the cafe racer look so I purchased some drag bars. (to old to bend over for clipons or clubman bars) The screw heads on the throttle and switches are destroyed and I'm unable to turn them. I thought about cutting the heads off with a cutting wheel then take it apart and remove the remaining screw but I'm unable to find a diagram that shows if I will have a screw left to grab. Any info would help. Thanks

Hola all! Recently got myself a 12 plate YBR125 [even though I have my mod 2 very soon] primarily for commuting, so I thought I'd join in here. I'm Farrell, living in Manchester, but originally from those lands up North called "Scotland" And, I hope to gain some wisdom from you all [shiny side goes on the bottom, right?] during my visits here Now, I just need to decide on a profile picture...

Hello to all... I am looking for some advise... I have a 07 DT 125 Rx... It's my second DT, I had one as a teenager... She's been mine since 2011, I have recently noticed that there is a lot of oily residue all over the tail end of my bike... It's been suggested "wrong oil" also suggested "wrong fuel"... As a rider not a mechanic or restorer I am at a loss... Please advise if you are more informed than I...

Hi I'm Danny, (newbie) from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire ive not had much happen on the bike front for around ten years now, mrs came along then first kid..then second and well you know the rest!! but when my first child was a year old an opportunity came up to buy a bike that I wanted but never could afford when I was younger, I bought and rd 350 f2 i thought it would be a lovely bike to pass on to him when he came of age! The first two years I did get it roadworthy and motd but did very little mileage around 200 miles per year, then my second lad came along and the bike has stood in the garage for the last four years. now I feel the time h…

Bought myself a 92 pre diversion XJ600 2 weeks ago after 11 years without a bike.... haven't stopped smiling yet! My first ever bike was a 1977 yamaha SR 500 which I got in about 1988. over the years I have also had: a Cx 500, two XS750s, (not at the same time, one after the other) rd 250, suzuki gsx250. honda cb750 hardtail chop, guzzi v1000 (ex-police). the guzzi was the one I kept the longest and the one i had last... some overlapped and there were a number of little bikes not worth mentioning that where runabouts. I have a liking for shaft drive (as you see). I would maybe have gone for the XJ900... I always wanted one, one of my dream bikes... but my reason for …

Hi all, I used this forum when I had a XJ6F which I sold on and went back to cruisers, missed them and having always had Suzuki's M800 then 2 vl800's well 3 I guess I bought my original one back after selling it 9 years ago! Well decided that it was time to try something more modern but stillin cruiser clothes so I have bought a 2013 Midnight Star XVS950A with just 1400 miles on the clock, looks great and a bit more minimalistic compared to my dressed chrome armchair Volusia. Cobra pipes and a screen are the only extras and I am looking forward to learning the heel and toe shifter!! I will no doubt add luggage and a few other bits over time. The Vl800 aka Intrud…

Hi, I am a new member that briefly joined and asked a question a couple of years ago and promptly lost my login details. Now moved house and found long lost things including my YOC details but lost new things though ? . Pleased to be back on here. I ride an 2006 XT 660X. I bought it in 2013 with 2,000 miles approx and it now has 9000 miles as I only use it mostly for pleasure with a little summer commuting across town.. Maybe there are other XT owners on here? Drop me a note if you want to, look forward to hearing about your bikes.

Hi I've just bought a TW125 as a bit of a project, and a way back into 2 wheels...I know it's not hugely powerful, but it should be fun doing it up. I started out on a blue FSIEdx back in '78, moved on to a Suzuki GT185, for about 12mths, then got a Kawasaki KE175. (Off-road fun with a Kawasaki KX250 A7) Moved on solely to cars in about 1982, but got a Peugeot scooter in about 2008 for a year.(50- too gutless for 15st bloke haha) .....and now the two wheeled bug is back! I've just picked up a 'barn find' 2002 TW125 with only 16k on the clock and mots to verify, it's currently a non runner, with a wiring fault. it appears that it will run if 12v appl…
