By "ish " I meant 57 .... Hello to all and each . I'm returning to the world of biking after a lull of about oooooh 30 odd years or so . I used to commute from Swansea to Bristol daily on a Pan European, wonderfull ! I recently underwent a life changing experience .. renal failure ! ... I came out of that and thought " sod it !, life is short, I'm gonna have some fun and enjoy myself " Foolishly I thought I was still 30 odd years old and bought myself a Pan ! Wrong decision , lovely as it was I had to admit it was too much bike for me, I no longer had the physical or mental ability to handle one of these ... so I bought it on a Friday, and sold it on the S…

Hi, Im new to this site so i thought i would introduce myself and what im doing. I recently brought a DT125 used off road and i would like to put it back on the road and renovate it to a good condition. if there is anyone out there who could point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated. I am an electrical/mechanical engineer so i feel confident in my abilities ( i've just never worked on a bike before!). The bike has no frame no's as it was stolen/recovered (I have the receipts of my proof of purchase) and it is in progress to go on a q plate with DVLA V55/5 (so it is Legit!). as soon as i figure out how to put pictures on here could someone please help…

Hi guys, Leaky here and I have a large number of RD350LCs and a couple of YPVSs cluttering the workshop... One of them runs too - the YPVS hybrid that is an unfaired and TZR-clocked F1 with Kwaka' KR1 running gear, a Metmachex swinger and a pair of shiny Gibson pipes. I've also been fortunate enough to purchase a 3XV, but as of yet unseen/collected. I am an active member of the UK based LC club http://lcclub.websitetoolbox.com where we run mostly Rd350LC's, YPVS's, TZR and TDR 250 models and a whole bunch of mongrel hybrid creations! It's a great club with loads of ride outs and show displays although both these other forums have very active memberships too - http://www.y…

Hello My first bike was a 1972 Yamaha RD350, my second was a 1970 Honda CB350, currently I have an 1982 Maxim 400 XS400J and a little toy 1999 Honda Dream C-100. I pulled my vintage 1982 Yamaha Maxim 400 Model XS400J out of storage in 2007 after it sat since 1991. ahd to do a lot of work but I got it up and running. I was wondering if anyone knows how many of these bikes were made and how many are still on the road. Mine has 5500 original Miles all original parts except head light and tires. I am looking for a set of carburators to replace mine. The idle screw plate broke off and there was a crack inside the housing of the float valve assembly. I bo…

Just thought I would say hello and say that the reason I joined this group is to hopefully be able to gather information on an older Yamaha that I am getting. I have had a Yamaha or two in my past, notably a 1977 red RD400 that I sold to by my wife an engagement ring..over 31 years ago. I am in Northern Ontario. G.

Well, when I say new, I mean new to the forum. I've just pulled my XJ900F out of the garage and the last tax disc on it it showing November 1999. A lot has happened in those....er 13 years - two children and a 4 year stint in the USA along with quite a lot else. I now have a job on my hands bring it back up to a useable state and for someone who is not so mechanically minded I can see myself spending quite a lot of time on here... Wish me luck and I apologise now if I ask some really daft questions Steve

  12. Well i'll tell you a little about myself shall I? Currently 17 years old and learning Car Mechanics at college. Got a keen interest for motorcycles and currently on my L plates. I've got an interest for the Yamaha DT125, so much so that i've decided to buy myself a nice frame and see if i can build it up all nice and painted how it would've looked from the factory. So expect to see me put up a project thread sometime soon, maybe in the next week or so. (also expect a few questions lol)
