Hi there, I'm 16 in March and I have got myself a Yamaha DT50Mx (1987). The bike needs a bit of a tidy up, paint, fork seals and a few other bits. My dad has had a bike accident and my mum doesn't want me on the road, but I have a pit bike and I'm still learning. For the past 2 years I've been excited about getting a moped but I'm not sure if I'll ever get on the thing. Would it be worth upgrading up to a newer dt50 with disc brakes, better lighting etc just to make riding safer? Hope to hear back from you.

Hi Folks, after a summer of misery on the trains (southern fail) I decided to do my CBT, see if biking could be an option for commuting. I'm glad I did because I love it! I wanted a bike I could maintain and do basic repairs on myself. I chose the YBR (2nd hand 19k miles) as it was affordable and robust. It's also a lot of fun to ride, as my commute is 90% 30mph limit with a few bus lanes thrown in to pass the suckers stuck in cars (legally I might add). So far I've done chain cleans and adjustments and replaced the speedo cable. Bought the Haynes manual to help out too. So in short loving the bike and looking forward to getting my hands greasy! Cheers! Dan

Hi all, Having been a bit stuck in my ways with Hondas I sold my CBR600FL and bought an FZR600R on the advice of a neighbour. I have to say I wish I'd have done it sooner!! The only other Yamaha I've owned was a 1981 XT250 back in 1993 which was only used off road. As well as bikes I love the Villa and get to as many games as possible. Unfortunately not todays though!! I live in Oxfordshire, love travelling and that's about it really!!

Hi everyone, I finally came across this cool site that I can share my joys/pitfalls in trying to restore a 1975 DT400 that I just picked up. I'm 44 and live in Canberra, Australia (well..near it). I have never restored a motorbike before but have ridden bikes for years. I grew up learning to ride on a bright orange 1975 DT250. Many year on, I yearned for a similar bike but came across a 1975 DT400 that was probably more fun to restore. The bike is basically complete, but needs a total restoration job done on it. I have found eBay very useful as well as Yamatopdog int he US for getting parts. At this stage, I have stripped a lot of it but want to actually get the…

Hello everyone. My name is Andy and from the north west in England. Having recently sold my nissan skyline and purchaced a honda Varadero 125 I thought that a 125cc engine would be ample for hauling my heavy ass to work and back. How wrong was I? So without hesitation I was on the lookout for something bigger. After a couple of weeks of hunting I have hooked myself a well looked after 2002 thundercat in blue and white with only 11000 miles on the clock and full service history. All thats left now is to get my full licence then I can ride her.

Hi everyone, I just joined the forum after getting my first big bike today. I passed my DAS last month and have had a Honda cbr125r since April this year. Today I just picked up my new 2004 YZF-R6 and am loving it! 10k on the clock and cost me £3k, which I don't think is too bad! Thought that I would post to say hi, and I look forward to meeting/spotting other bikers in Gloucester!
