  2. Started by Old River Man,

Hi Just joined the forum after recently completing my CBT. Bought a YBR 125 custom which I am mainly using to get to work and back. The bike is great and very easy to ride but the headlight can only be descibed as poor. As most of daily work journey is down lanes without the benefit of street lighting I think I may have to upgrade the healight. I leave for work at 5am so it is an issue I need to address. Anyway apart from that I am really enjoying the ride to work and back. May even get a bit more adventurous when I have some more experience on the road. Old river man

Hi everyone, new to the site, so be gentle Just picked up a gleaming 1989 TZR 125 (fully rebuilt) and wow lovely bike. But.............................Errrrrrrrr!! Will only tick over once warm, and then (when blipping throttle) sits at 3000 revs for a few seconds before slowly running down to 1000 and rough tick over. Rides well up to 7000 revs then splutters and pops as it tries to go into the power band, but refuses to budge past 7000revs and 60mph. As i understand it the power valve is pegged open and it has a Ginelli exhaust. I have tried to ring Stan Stephens, but he is on hols till the 30th April. Any thoughts or help would be really appr…

Hi everyone, I've just bought my son his first Yamaha, a 2006/7 DT125X, so thought it would be a good idea to join the owners' forum in order to share in your undoubted expertise in all things Yamaha. I have already encountered a problem with the YPVS which I am struggling to resolve. Is this the place to post the problem specifics or should I start a thread elsewhere? Regards Hue

  10. Started by Cemsahil,

Hey Ladies and Gents, I'm Cem, I just bought myself a Yamaha Ybr125, I'm 19, and due to pass my CBT on Tuesday. I bought my bike about a month ago, and since then have found that I would need to replace my exhaust system, as the previous owner, patched over my exhaust pipe many times with thermal paste, and I have just spotted as it fell off it revealed holes -.-. I was wondering, what is the best option for the exhaust, to buy a new stock one, or pay a little extra for an aftermarket one which would make it sound better, and will that make my insurance go up? I'm looking for a Yamaha YBR125, 06 Model, road legal exhaust, I saw that IXIL one, but everyone says i…

  13. Started by Wyn,

Hi I'm 23 and travel 55miles to work so decided that I wanted a bike as its a far cheaper way to get about and a lot more fun, so did my CBT and went searching for 125s. I read a lot of reviews on all sorts of bikes and decided to stick with a Japanese bike over a cheap Chinese one. I also wanted a comfy one and had a look at crusers. The XV had caught my eye and had brilliant reviews so I decided to go and have a look at one I had seen for sale for £900. I met a woman who was selling it on behalf of her son and claimed he had hardly used it and it was always dry stored. The bike had a little cosmetic damage where it had been dropped in the past and light paint damage…

I read a lot of reviews on all sorts of bikes and decided to stick with a Japanese bike over a cheap Chinese one. I definatly wanted a comfy one as the journey takes about an hour and the cruser style ones seemed to look the comfiest, with their sofa like seats. The XV Virago had caught my eye and had brilliant reviews, so I decided to go and have a look at one I had seen for sale for £900. Hi, My names Alex and I’ve recently acquired a 1989 XJ600, although it’s a serious project bike since not much goes on it. I’ve ridden bikes for 22 years, with a break for 7 years up to now. Although this ones going to take a while to get going, even after hoovering out the mouse nest under the seat!! I love doing up old machines with the last one I did being a Ducati 750SS and loved it. Hopefully people won’t mind, but I eventually plan on making an XJ Café racer style since there’s some exterior damage anyway. First to get her up and running and back on the road though 👍
