    I just bought a 2003 wr450 that has been sitting four the past 4 years. I bought a new spark plug and cleaned the carb and jets. I kicked this thing all day and only got it started 4-5 times but couldn't keep it running. The electric start doesn't work. I've read up on in and was told by the previous owner it is z factory defect in this year and model. Is there a trick to stating this thing. Every time it did start, it was shortly after I messed with the red knob on the bottom of the carburetor. I think its the hot start knob. But I think I have a jot start lever. I don't know. Any help would be great. Thanks.

  2. I am new to this. We are rebuilding two 1982 mx 80 bikes. Found everything except the front tires. I am in Canada and Canada does not have these tires available. Does anyone know where I can order from that will ship to Canada? Any information or leads to site would be greatly appreciated. The bikes are turning out amazingly. Thanks for any and all help.

    Hi I restored a DT from a pile of junk to quite a looker, to the extent is was too good to take off road. Sort of defeated the object really, but anyway, have just sold it. So first of all, thanks to Airhead amongst others for technical advice when asked for. Secondly I put it on ebay at £1250 buy it now, and it went in under 4 minutes, so although I've cleared a bit of profit which was never intended, it looks like prices are buoyant.     Hello, I got a friend selling a Arrow-exhaust that he used on his DT125R from 04, and I got DT125R from 03, the problem is that we live about 300 kilometers away from each others and none of us are sure if the exhaust for 04 fits for the 03-model without to do to many modifications.. When I've been searching for exhaust to mine for quite a while, and usually its like from 1989(?) to 2003 and 2004 and forward, never 1989 to 2004 or something like that, so please guys help me out!

Dear Members / Bike Guru's My name if Francis Guchie I have done the following but my DT will not start even when it has a spark 1-Split the engine into parts cleaned up up almost piece by piece 2-used new gaskets to put it back into place 3-replaced new piston and rings 4-field-coil cleaned up and dried ( i was moist and dirty) 5-replaced new ICM ( power pack) CDI 6-Cleaned all wire harnesses 7-New Plug Thanks in advance

    Hi fellas . Does anybody perhaps know where I can get my hands on a service manual for a 1983 XT250T , model 38M ? It seems to be a very scarce commodity. It's the first model that had the MONO SHOCK rear suspension I think , and it also had the air intakes on the front of the tank .

    Hi All, I hope someone can help me fix the electrical problem with my CT2. Brakelight works fine if I leave he headlights off. If I turn them on, brake light is permanently on and the other filament in the bulb glows faintly when I apply the brakes. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks, Adil

    The bike is a 1973 yamaha ct3. The engine has spark, fuel, and compression. The timing is off by 90 degrees and I have no idea how to fix this problem. There doesn't look like there's any way to adjust it and these are all factory components...I must be missing something. Any help? Thanks.

    Hey everyone! so I have just finished restoring my 1974 dt175. the bike looks and runs perfectly that is until i got back from off- roading. during the ride everything went great but when i started my bike when i got back it was having a really difficult time shifting. when i would shift into first the shifter would stay down. when i shift into second the shifter stays up and io have to put it back in the middle before I can shift into third. I believe it is the shifter return spring. what i want to know is if i need to tear into my engine or if i can access the spring from the outside. any help would be appriciated.

  16. Hi peeps, I've recently been researching about doing a 520 chain conversion to my Dt but need some help. As I'm sure most already know the DT's run a 428 by 134L but changing the pitch to 520 changes the amount of links I'm able to have. The 520 renthal chain has 124 links at the most and was wondering if this would be ok to put on my bike with out altering it too much? any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Zimbo

    Hi... new to the forum. have a 78 dt175. 2500 miles runs great. I am, just wondering if there are any good performance improvements to try. Right now the bike will run about 65 mph. With my 230 lb on it. Engine is turning about 7500 rpm at that speed. Any carb or exhaust options still available for these bikes. Thanks for your help. Ken

    Hello to all this is my first post : ) I have a DT 125 R purchased new in Feb 2003 , I used it as my main bike in London for a while and since living in France have been having fun off road !! anyhow tis a bit bashed up now and I would like to get it back on the road does anyone know where I can get a new set of plastics and a new seat for it many thanks in advance

    Gday im customising/rebuilding a battered old yamaha. Its exhaust works well but unlike most other dt models ive seen its silencer bends downwards as seen the photo. This i would like to change for solely aesthetic reasons This i was wondering if this can be changed, or what the effect of slicing it off as done by this person with a yamaha dt 250 would be

    I finnaly got the right Alan key to undo the power valve pulley cover on my dtr 125 , I found that the wires had been disconnected and wedged open. Then while trying to find a better position too hook it up to , and testing it out to see how I would like to set it up, I ran out of petrol, didn't take it off reserve prrevious day as didn't really fill it up much. I then wheeled it to petrol station without putting the cover back on for the pulley, and the screw must of came lose to the pulley think I may have fitted the wrong screw earlier as was getting dark I rushed.
