Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

I have a 1998 suzuki rm 80(I known this is a yamaha forum but i could'nt find a good suzuki forum) and it has a few problems and I can't figure out what's wrong. One problem is that when I first start the bike and ride it,it has alot of power and takes off real good but when I start riding it for a while and start trying to do wheelies it looses power and it becomes slower to take off.If I leave the bike for about 30-60 minutes and ride again it will get its power back. Another poroblem is that for some reason my front wheel is a little crooked and it is causing the disk brake to rub against the pads when it gets to the part where its bent....could this be because t…

I have a 1990 tt600, imported from germany, it has 6V elecrics with head light and indicators. What i am after is the wiring diagram, i hace a clymar manual but its for the americam model and dosent have the correct diagram. Has anybody changed this bike over to 12V or put the system off an XT on it. please help

Hi, Im new to the forum having just picked up my italian import TDR today. Not the worlds biggest, best, or fastest bike i know, but it suits me. The problem i have is that it runs when you put a brand new spark plug in then after a short while it cuts out and will not go again. This is what the previous owner told me anyway, i haven't had a chance to test it yet. I have taken the carb off to clean it but can't make head or tail of it. I could just put it back together but would kinda rather have a clue why it goes together in the way it does, so what i need is a diagram or some kind of advice on the delorto carb which was made for this bike? I am brand new to this forum. I am just getting my 11 and 8 yr old boys into riding. I just bought my 8yr old a brand new Yamaha TTR50. I want to get my 11 yr old a used 90. Are these bikes supposed to be good? I have heard they would be good for them to learn on. Just wondering what your thoughts on this model bike and any other imput? Thanks

Hello everyone, im new to this! Looking at getting my first crosser in the next couple of weeks, ive narrowed it down to a YZ125 or KM125, just need some advice please! Im looking at either a 2001 or 2002 YZ125, got around £1300 to spend, which should get me an ok one from the looks of things! Just a couple of things, reading some reviews ive noticed that the 2001 has a 6 speed box and 2002 has a 5 speed box, which one is better? Is there anything to look for when buying and is the 2002 going to be alot better than the 2001? Thanks, Sam

Hi, first post so hello all. Just bought myself a little DT125 to rebuild as its a bit tatty, its a 1990 H-reg. With the bike I got a spare engine thrown in but its from a 2002 bike. Will the engine fit stright in? And will the parts be interchangable? The other question was the later engine has the power valve assembly and control unit still conected and I want to use that on the bike but i have noticed that the connections for the control unit are different. Would it be possible to buy a wiring harness from a later DT and fit it to my bike? Would i also need to buy a CDI unit for this? Or would it be easier to get a control unit which fits the existing harness? …

hi, I have a 1989 YZ250 in need of complete plastics (will buy seperately if nesercery) used or new, & have been told anything from 89 upto year 92 will fit. does anyone know where to get some? i would prefer the most modern (1992), but if not then anything earlier. Also i need some forks, years 89 / 90 / 91 / 92 . good to exellent condition preferably. any help/knowledge much aprieciated. Rich.

I just purchased a 1999 WR 400 and it is a beast to crank, I have been choking it and pushing the kick start through top dead center by pulling the compression release then kicking it ,...man,.. and if I choke it down in the woods it again is the devil to get cranked, is there an easier cranking method? also what does the red choke button do? thanks for anyone willing to comment.

Hi everyone, need help please. Have a 83 TT600K that wants to run only when it has a mind to. Have been having trouble getting consistant spark at the plug. Right now I have no spark at all. Have replaced the pickup coils at the flywheel, previous owner had cobbled the mounting in the case half, had no clue where the gap was set and timing, could see where the flywheel had been hitting the magnetic tits so replaced with a ebay part that does test good as far as manual specs. Have also replaced CDI box with another ebay part, bike has not run yet with the replacement box since no spark. Do have approx 3-4 volts coming out of the orange lead to the coil when kicking ov…

Hello I am picking up my new bike tonight, its been bought as a non runner, the guy has said it run really well 6 months ago but its now been in storage for 6 months.... he said some new petrol and a clean of the spark plug will do the trick. Please help me as I would like to now if I should do anything else to the bike if its been standing for that long???? or should I look out for anything else ?? Look forward to anybodies reply. hi i got a 1997 dt230 lanza and i cannot get it to start. Does anyone know how i can attach a kick starter to the bike and what parts i need (obviously a kick starter) but what sort and other bits required etc thanks

Hi Guys, I was wondering how many of you with TT600R (i beleive its a 98 lump) have had the same problems that im having. STARTING, just cant seem to get it to start witout being absolutly PXXXXD off and shattered so much that after all that kicking i domt want to ride it. I realise that there is a knack, but i just cant seem to find out what it is. As the bike was mainly used for off road and the previous owner road regd it it does not have a battery. Well slowly iv got the parts for the rebuild on my DTR everything but the piston i was wondering if my bore had already been bored out a bit will a standard piston be ok if its on its first stage? any way back to what i was asking any tips on how to remove coke build up? tips techniques...tools?....products you can recommend cheers
