just picked up a DT for $250... i live in the dominican republic and not to sure what i have here.... everything on this island is molested or held together with bubble gum. anyways my papers says its a 1997 dt 175. but the im pretty sure the motor is a 125, switched out at some point. the bike is a little rugged in some places, gauges don't work, head light fairing missing, taillight gone... but for the most part it runs. now the question im asking is, can any of you help me identify my bike.:-) thanks here are some pics.

Hi I have a DT125x 06 with supermoto wheels, and would like to do a bit of off roading but it is fitted with a brembo caliper and the disc on the front wheel is alot bigger that the disc on the off road wheel, so the caliper does not reach the disc. what is the easiest way of resolving this problem. any help would be grateful. Hello again from Bulgaria Following previous advice I managed to locate some Rockoil 10/30 gearbox oil. Chuffed. Drained old emuslified oil ( without checking how much came out ), and flushed with 650cc cheap oil. But 650cc took the level way above full on the dipstick. Decided to refill to dipstick level with Rockoil so put in 500cc without looking at the dipstick, ready to top up using the dipstick. Humph... 500cc is already above the dipstick mark. So, the correct amount of oil is 650cc according to the manual and to the casting on the gearbox. Should I just put in 650cc and be damned,or should I use the dipstick as the correct level. Could I have the…

Hoping some carb guru's can help me out here. I have a '74 DT175A I got last fall from a friend, along with a bunch of spare parts he had been buying on Ebay. I posted a question here back in the fall introducing myself and to find out the standard carb settings. Since then I've also come into some PDF manuals. Last fall, I got the bike to start and run, but the original petcock leaked so I wasn't able to check out much. Having watched the winter go by without touching the bike (daughter's wedding this April) I finally got a new petcock installed on the bike to replace the old leaky one. The little Yamaha starts and runs at first with choke (enricher) plunger…

hello, i kno there is allready a huge thread on how to de-restrict a dt125r. but ive allways had this on my mind about the ypvs on my motorbike. basically when my powervalve was supposedly working ages ago it had no differnece in bottom end power than it did when the valve was jammed closed and dis-connected. and while it was supposedly working it would only top out at around 65mph in 5th, and 6th gear had no power what so ever. while when the valve was jammed closed it would go off the clock. and ive never figured out why it has been like this because it span in the same directions as the videos posted on youtube ect. the bike model is 2001, and im 99% sure that …

I became the new owner of a 1982 XT125 that is in great shape. But it cut's out when ever you go past 1/2 throttle. Runs awsome other-wise. Have pulled carb an cleaned, idles fine, checked fuel tank , lines , filters, all flow fine. Acts like lacking gas , but I know thats not the case. I do have an issue with the lights though. If I turn on the signal lights with the brake on , the signals won't work right and the tail-light dims. I have tried by-passing the little green thing bolted to the frame neck on the right side with a red & white wire and lights work fine then. Don't know what that part is nor can I find it to buy. Also does it need to have a battery to funct…

Hello people! Just bought a perfect example of a dr125r just got a minor problem with I believe the carb-ill explain in a little detail. Pulls from standstill up to 9000ish rpm and then I get bogging and stuttering, noticed it more today when I took her out on some busy roads. Only bought it Friday night Just wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestion? Bike is fully derestricted with a full dep exhaust and snorkel removed, previous owner says he got carb jetted up in a garage but I don't believe him. Any ideas what jet she should have in? Cheers Ken

Hello Motovirus buddys: do you think is enough a 250 c.c. (carb) motorbike travelling two people to go camping around 5.000 miles with all the gear? We will do soft off-road paths, no highways, some paved road hills and a lot of wind (New Zealand). I can't take my XT600, is cheaper to buy an used motorbike in that country. I did that plenty of times in my life but always with at least 600 c.c. mono (XT600, NX650 Dominator). We will have a lot of time, I don't care speeding only at 60/65 mph. I saw people travelling around South America with 125 c.c. engines, but whithout passengers. Thanks a lot.

I have seen a WRF advertised fairly locally. However the bike was stolen from the owner who then recovered it fairly shortly after but the vin number had been ground out of the frame, but engine number is still in tact. the person has the crime number to prove this is the case. what i would really love to know is do i have any chance of getting an MOT on this, as tax and MOT have ran out. also might there be any complications with getting insurance on it and also for them to pay out in the event of an accident? any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
