Hi all - I was wondering if anyone knew if the fuel tanks from the 82 XS400 Secas, Maxims, and Specials were interchangable with respect to mounting to the frame and fitting the contour of the front of the seat. I ask because I own an '82 XS400RJ Seca and was thinking about replacing the fuel tank with one from a Special. I saw a picture where it looked as though someone had done the same thing (and it actually looked normal) but had taken off the plastic side covers that normally fit below the seat. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

I just bought a 02 v-star 1100 for my second bike and want to put on a set of slip-ons. This is the first time changing exhaust on one of my bikes so I have a few questions. First any suggestions on a set of slip-ons? I am looking at the Roadhouse Brand Moto Classic Slip-on Muffler they are a 3.5" dia. slash cut. Second do you have to rejet with slip-ons? I have heard people say you do and don't. Thanks for the help.

Good day. I just signed up so am new here. I own a Yamaha Nouvo Elegance 135cc AT and I have a question to other people who own one. Where do you access the chassis number? I can find the engine number easily enough but for the life of me I can't find the chassis number. I may be overlooking it so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello all, a newbie so please be gentle. I have a YZF R125 and have only done 1500 miles from new. I love the bike to bits but its struggling to reach 60 mph plus at the moment. Its struggling to do 65 downhill....surely that cant be right?? Any and all help would be much appreciated as i'm not a mechanicy type person. Thanks in advance.

Hi people i have an r-125 and want to get a bit more from the bike can anyone help ! I have a full scorpion race system on the bike but dont no were to go next ? All info would be greatfull Have bin told you can get an upgraded ecu but dont no were from ? Yamaha said there tec's have had 22bhp from the bike but wont say how they reached this !? Hi there (newbie) looking for a little help i have a r1 2001 and the gearbox has just went i have it stripped down and looks like 3rd/4th pinion gears are gone and 4th wheel gear on the other shaft, after getting prices for the gears think second hand is the way to go. looking on ebay there is a few for sale but was wondering if anyone knows if the 5jj is the same as the 4xv or if there is others available. hope you can help mark thanks

I am doing a service with a mate for the first time on my 2007 R1. Ive got all the bits from the dealers to do the job. But when it came to the Oil I was just going to use the recommended YAMALUBE oil in it ,But my dealer only stocks Shell Advance. I had a choice between a 10/40 semi and a 10/40 ultra Fully synth, which was £10 more. I went for the more expensive option thinking you get what you pay for. But my mate said he wold use the semi as a full would make my clutch wear out alot quicker as he has had friends with Blackbirds who have used fully and there clutchs have lasted 1500 miles. me and a round-a-bout had a little mis-understanding and the is a slight king in the front wheel rim. I'm just wondering what other Yamaha model's front wheels will fit to make it easier to find them on ebay? Any suggestions?

Hi all. I have, as you may know, a YZF750. I bought some R1 2003 forks to replace my original ones. I have had some shims made up to fit the gap in the bottom yoke. I have the wheel aligned central, the callipers (also R1, blue star type) line up, but I have one big problem: The 320mm discs on my YZF wheel are getting in the way of mounting the callipers on the fork mounts. The callipers are about 10mm away from the mounts. Does anyone know what year R1 has 310mm discs other than 2003, should I be looking for a pre injection model? I have also considered selling the 2003 R1 forks and buying a set of older R1 forks that would take a 320mm disc. Has anyone d…

My R1 2004 front brake is sticking on. Not the actually brakes themselves but the lever wont return back to where it should. Whcih means the brake light stays on and i have to keep moving it back. Im thinking possible a sticking caliper or something but i dont know. Going in for a 12k service soon so they can sort it but just wandered what it might me.

Hi all, i know ive read it on here before but ive looked for half an hour and cant find it, soooooo... someone said that u can change the clutch arm (under clutch cover) for a longer item from another yam to make the clutch pull easyer!! i think it was a viagro or sumthing but i cant remember!!
