Hi all, This is my first post. Been checking over the posts to see what's there. Lots of great stuff. Name is Ric. Live in Central Ohio. Been riding for several years now and love every minute of the wind in my face experience. Even the bugs......LOL I just bought my second Yamaha. First one was an old 82 Maxim 750. Downsized to a to 500 Kawasaki but missed my Yam. Traded the Kaw in for a V-Max. All I have to say is OH MY GOD! I got it up to six grand on the rpm's and V-boost kicked in. It was everything I could do to hang on to that rice rocket! It gets horrible gas mileage, but I don't care one bit. It's well worth the extra gas to ride the b…

Hello, I'm new on this forum. I just bought a FZR 750 from 87, with type 2LM. I'm a bit lost for the moment, I need some help to identify the bike and find out, for example the real power of the bike, etc... because I heard about special types with less power etc, is it true? Hello all, I just bought a 1986 FJ1200 I payed 750.00 bucks for it. It runs ok I cleaned the carbs and need to get them syncronized it crackles and pops a bit. But my concern in 2nd gear. I have been reading a bit and I have heard a couple people say this is common. My question is what is the problem? Is it clutch or is it the gear? and should I fix it or get use to it. It will slip hard under acceleration but at low speed is ok. thanks for any input

Got a spanking new R6 a few months back and i love it!! Had it up on its pit stand today making it look pretty for xmas, i turn my back for 2 seconds and BANG!!! Its on its side!! The crash bungs saved most of the damage but the clutch leaver was bent. Being the bright spark that i am i thought 'should just bend back' - NOPE IT SNAPS OFF!!!!! Maybe someone can cheer me up by saying it aint going to cost too much to fix??

Hi I have bought my first Yamaha after a long spell with Kawasaki. I have a YZF1000R Thunderace 1999 It has just developed a strange noise/squeak. When idling it's fine but as soon as you rev it squeaks for a second or two and then goes away but it does it everytime you rev fromm idle. It sounds like it is coming from the exhaust. Has anyone else heard of this? Thanks

Bought this awesome peice of kit for a grand sum of 250 quid. In a bad running state, but the condition is prety good. Only done 17.4KM in pounds and pence a smidge over 10K miles. 34HP, Brembo wheels/brakes delorto 32mm carb italian import. UK road reg`ed. box of spares too.. plus the most of the fairing, big big smile!.. going to take a wee while to get back on the road. fitted the bits toghter just to see what the bike looks like.. on with the restore! engine is now out, needs a new crank bearing.. slight play.. the fork seals are knackered.…

Late 90's YZF750, changed the plugs and air filter this afternoon, oil and filter tomorrow and noticed these 4 pipes under the tanks - all blanked off? Assume these are used for balancing? Any advice/conformation gratefully received, ohhh and Happy New Year to all readers!! Dunc

Right, I drive a heavily modded Peugeot 206, pictured below. You'll no doubt recognise the headlights and this is where my problem lies. Obviously the offside headlight is currently a main beam light, big circle, no pattern. It just about gets through an MOT at the moment but to be frank it's incredibly antisocial as you'll apprecaite. My question is this, is it possible to modify this light to dip it somehow? Can I use a dipping plate from a N/S light and put it into the O/S one? Is there aother way around this at all? I'm not brilliant when it comes to technical stuff but generally can follow instructions. I know it's not strictly bike related…

Have an 82 XS650 specoal.. I rode it down the street (frist time she's been out for awhile) I drove up and parked it. Went inside and came back after a few and noticed I had left the headlight so I turned it off. I came out to start it and there is no power to the starter button, headlights or neutral light. The turn signals work, tail light and horn...I tracked as many wires that I could and see nothing, no bare wires and no in-line fuse...the battery is fully charged...its as if the electrical is torn in half...some systems work some don't. It's like I blew some hidden fuse someplace. Ideas??

I recently bought a 93 XJ600S (it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up) and it needs a lot of work (hence why it was cheap lol). I am needing some help with finding that parts that I need for it. I have a vague idea of what I need but the one that most parts websites are set up into different categories I'm having a hard time finding them. Does anybody know which categories on most part websites I could find the carbs and stater (sp?) and the magneito (sp?). I know I need all 4 carbs and there's a magnet piece that goes with the stater and I want to guess that's in the crankcase section of the parts websites but I havent the slightest clue which part it is and don't want to…

Hi all, Anybody work for a Yamaha delearhip in the UK/Europe? I have been trying to get a lowered seat for the Fazer S2 (3cm lower - I'm 5'8" and would prefer a lower seat). They don't sell them in the US. The part number in Europe is ZUB-FZ6SI-TZ-BA. If anybody could check if it is available in the UK I would greatly appreciate it!
