I'm looking putting down a deposit for a mt-07 this payday but am bound to a restricted licence until November. Does anyone know if yamaha will provide a 33bhp (25kw) restrictor kit for the mt-07 or will a xj6 kit fit. Or is it even worth getting one fitted for the sake of a few months. Is it a banable offence or just a small fine.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what handlebars I can put onto an MT-125 ABS 2015 model. I want to replace the old rusty ones. I know there's a bunch of universal ones but I'm not sure what size is needed. Also, I'm very lazy and cba to find out myself... Thanks.

I adjusted the chain tension on the MT to the specs in the 2017 manual, 5-15mm. It was incredibly tight, I could hear the drive-train whining when I rid the bike, I've slacked it off to 25mm and I still think it needs more play. I phoned three Yamaha dealers and they recommended between 15-35mm but no one actually knows what the exact tension Yamaha recommend is. The issue for me is that the bike is under warranty and the manual states frame damage may occur if play is over 25mm. I've just sent a follow up email to Yamaha as they are saying the manual is correct. Does anyone have a different year MT/FZ which states a different range?

I've been looking at getting an MT-01, after all... it LOOKS and SOUNDS fantastic!!! I ended up taking a demo out (with stage 1 exhaust upgrade). My first impression of the massive throbbing V-twin was similiar to riding a cattle grid! (fun at first). Also, the torque was emense, to the point i was gripping on with my knees to rest my wrists as i attempted to 'gently' ride through stationary traffic (wasn't til i remebered I had a clutch, which again was quite an odd sensation, but the only way to stop to popping-engine-lunge). The ride lasted 20-30mins and by the end of it, I was a little concerned about my internal organs (i rode moto-x up til my mid-twenti…

Evening all , I've said a quick hello in the welcome section but would like some advice on mods for the mt 03 . So far it's completely standard but I plan on fitting a power commander and a set of aftermarket pipes . I could wait until a set of secondhand arrows or akropovic come up for sale sh or I'm tempted with some of the stainless Mivv cans . Does anyone have any experience of these ? Quality , sound and power ? Other mods will be a spray job and a screen .

Hi, I'm new to this site. I have a 2008 MT03 which I love to pieces as well as three other bikes. I'm an experienced biker but the world's worst mechanic. (I once changed the pads on an NC30, managed to break a disc bolt - £3.49 for a new one! - and then forgot to pump the brakes when I rode it; after fitting the new disc bolt of course. Luckily I hadn't touched the rear brake so was able to come to a halt at the junction with the main road ourside the block I live in! ) I managed to crack the 'stem' of the o/s rear indicator on my MT03 due to the lack of space in my garage. I've got a new one and want to fit it myself as the Yamaha dealers in my area leave a lot to be…

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on the MT09 as I'm thinking about getting one. I swear I read somewhere that the throttle mapping issues were fixed on the 2015 model and that there was a suspension update. Or do they still need the modified cartridges? Cheers in advance

im riding a fz1s 2006. i played around with my multifuction meter unit and noticed that if i pressed both reset and select button together and hold, then turn the key on, my meter will display 'diag'. i assumed that diag represent diagnose(to check for errors on bike). when i release both button and pressed either select or reset, it will display a 'C'. so what im trying to ask is that what does this 'C' stands for?? i probe further on the 'C' function and realise that inside the function there are 4 digits. C1, C2, C3, C4. so what does this symbolise?? does it represent the 4 cyclinders in my engine?? again i continued on and i found out that at C1, a -2 digit was …

Hi Just wondered if someone could give some advise or opinions. The devil sat on my shoulder and told me to go and look at my local Yamaha dealer to see what prices i could get an 04 era R1 or a nearly new R6 for. Turns out they are similar price. Anyway i have a 2004 immacualte R6 with only 7k on the clock and all the papers etc etc etc and they offered me a very low px price. I then went to bike shope not that far from me who had a 07 R6 for 6k and offered me 3500 px for mine which i thought was not bad at all. Another place only offerred 2500. Thats a massive difference. I have seen similar sell for around 4k marker on piston heads so have just added mine …

Hello everyone, I'd like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Rob and I currently reside in New Haven Connecticut, approximately 10 minutes from the Yale University campus. Like I mentioned in the title of this thread, I own a 1991 Yamaha FZR1000 that is in beautiful condition. Each year I store it over the winter months in my garage and this year I decided to insulate all of the pipes that run through the garage thus making the temps drop to around 20 degrees. When I put the bike away last this past November, the clutch was working fine. Now it doesnt work at all. The handle has no resistance at all when I squeeze it. I have spoken to a mechanic at my Yamaha…
