I've got myself a set of blue spot calipers to go on the front of my FZR600R and was wondering if the rear blue spot will fit too. I know there's no need to change it but I would like a matching set of calipers if they're an easy fit. Also I went into my local Yamaha dealer at the weekend to see how much a seal kit for the front R1 calipers was and nearly shat myself when I was told it was £100 for 8 rubber seals (robbing scumbags). If anyone else is reading this and needs some go to www.wemoto.com they do them for £30. They are obviously pattern parts and I've not used them so don't hunt me down and kick me in the nuts if they're no good, just trying to help out

I've recently had my carbs cleaned & synced. When I start her, sometimes, I have to hold the throttle all the way open to keep her running. Then when she's running (warming up) when I twist the throttle; it boogs down or cuts off. I know this is NOT suppose to happen when getting on the throttle. Can somebody, ANYBODY, please help me out. I'm new to riding and I want to get the kinks out of my 85 Maxim X and I want to have her running right. Has anubody else ran into a problem like this or can assist me with fixing my issue. I thank you al in advance for you time & efforts. chrismc101

Hi everyone.. I have got the Bike bug again after over 17 years away from it after passing my car test and want to get back into it. All i had before was small bikes (H**da CB's and the odd S****ki GP and GT's) and this xj will be my first Yamaha and my first big ( ish ) bike i have found a couple of XJ's on the 'bay of 'E' for around £300 and there is one for sale in my town for £800.. all im after really is some advice as to what to look for on these machines, Have they any weaknesses that should be checked out? Are the Engines robust and not chuck a leg out of bed the moment you give it some welly? Any info would be appriciated.. many thanks Daz.

hey guys, first of all first time owning a yamaha, i have not been riding a bike for long(about a year). quick question, i recently acquired a YAMAHA FZS600 (2000) and one of the front discs has a slight gauge in it, it brakes absolutely fine with no issues. my question is if i am getting them replaced, is there a specific size i need to get, or can someone point me in the right direction for a low budget decent set, as i would not just buy the one i would replace both including the pads. many thanks in advance

Hi all Wonder if someone can advise me. Got pulled over the other day whilst out on my 04 R6 (luckily not by the police) but by another biker who flagged me down. Basically said that my brake light was permanently on except when i appeared to go over a bump. On closer inspection this is in fact true. The lever appears to be permenantly touching a small metal disc (could be the switch?) that is aprox 5p in size. Is there an adjustment i can do to the switch or anything? Any advice appreciated Rich

Hi, Im about to get a new yam r6 2010. The guy in the dealership is saying 500 miles no more than 6000 revs then oil change to break it in. A friend at work reckons hammer it else it wont brake in properly. I found this website, http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm I am confused between manufactuers instructions and experianced mechanics. My brain says follow motomans advice, I would like to see what you guys think and if any one has had any experainces that might help me out. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Luke

I just bought an FZR600R, gotta stick a new rear on it (the front is a brand new BT014). I know you shouldn't mismatch tyres, but doens anyone know if you can use a BT016 rear with an 014 front? I fancy trying out the 016's, but don't want to shell out a small fortune for a new set of 2 when the front is ok, I'm just a bit dubious as to whether the two tyres will work together Cheers Wayne
