Hi everyone, Can anyone here give me advice on any buying advice whatsoever for buying a yamaha YZF600 Thundercat.? I really want it in black and am prepared to spend no more than £2000. I hae no idea what to look for. I know I cant really buy younger than 2000 reg. What sort of mileage should they have done? Many thanks in advance for anyone who helps me out with this. Hi everyone I am the proud new owner of a 1999 Yamaha Zeal - first bike ever and I love it! Learning slowly and trying to build up confidence but this bike is way to easy to go fast on!! I wondered if there was anyone else out there with a Zeal? Bike didn't come with handbook so would be interested in picking brains for any maintenance issues, like does the seat come off to access battery and if so, how?? Right i bought my scootay coupel of weeks ago it had a flashing one bars worth of petrol in it and was stood from may, ive changed spark plug, cleaned air filter, gone through 2 full tanks of petrol with red ex in and done around 130 miles. i was told when buying it a week before he had a new piston in not sure if he got head done and it had the clocks reset n i got it at 170 miles, i got it put through its test so it has a years ticket on. right thats the background of the bike. right the problem. ill start it up to go to work and its fine and pokey until about a minute down the road then when i stop to turn ill try to go n it will like bog down n have no revs, the…

Suzuki broke the superbike 1000cc competition barrier with the 1300cc Monster Hayabusa, to which Kawasaki answered with its ZzR-14 and ZX-12R, right? Honda is off doing its own thing like always, making cheap cars an what not (can't really compete at that). So I ask, What is Yamaha's Big Bike Contender? Is it the R1? Is there no bike bigger than a liter displacement? Did I miss one somewhere? Just wondering... if none exists i will just have to argue to my friends that the R1 is good enough to whip bigger bikes asses without needing the bigger size.

Hello all, thinking about selling or trading my yb100 1986 in (need to get a 125), i've repainted the tank and put a new rear tyre on, Fosdyke very kindly came round and sorted the oil pump timing, its running really nice now but as i'm nearly 15 stone my missus says i look to big for it, has anyone got any ideas how much these bikes are worth in good condition, or of anyone wanting to swap from a 125 (god thats high hopes lol) thanks for reading this and i hope someone ca advise me. Ive had a ybr since feb and i was just wondering if there are any modifications to aid performance? Also is there any way i could put maybe an alarm/immobilizer on it and a lighter socket?

Hello, I can't seem to find a specific topic/forum only for Yamaha YBR 125. If it exists, can someone help me to find it? If not, how to create this topic? I have a YBR 125. I would like to upgrade to a 15t front sprocket for more top end speed. Now the problem I have is the chain. How many links should I buy the chain for this new sprocket. I know that the standard sprocket is 14t and the standard chain is 428 pitch and 118 links. Should I buy one with 1 link more? Thanks

The headlight of my YBR125 is awfull. Can anyone recommend a better bulb than the standard craps? Also, can you put a higher wattage bulb in the headlight, than the standard h4 35w/35w? Cheers!

Found one hanging next to the rear brake switch. Has a round crimped terminal on the end of it. Looks to attach to crank case but can't find any obvious location Bike runs fine and charges ok, but any extra electrical draw when at idle causes a slight change to the tone of the fuel pump. Touching earth against frame or engine makes no difference

Morning All, First time poster, and rider, so bear with me please . Passed my CBT on Sunday, and got a second-hand YBR to commute to work on, however I have a couple of issues and looking for help/advice please; 1.) Speedometer and odometer are both not working, can you advise how to check if the cable is damaged or loose? 2.) Electric ignition does not fire at all. The electrics all come on fine, green neutral light on etc, but when I depress the electric ignition the neutral light dims slightly and there is no starting sound at all. Hello! I have recently joined the biking fraternity, and and currently loving my little YBR 125. I have a slight problem with my right hand side air box, it is a little loose and not secured properly. I have had a look, and there seems to be a screw or bolt of something missing to secure it properly. I was just wondering if any one knows the code, or has a picture of the fixing, and how it all goes together. On a side note, would a Haynes manual go down well? My bike is a 55 plate YBR 125. Hi All, This is my first topic in ths forum and I'm starting with a technical problem. This morning while riding I heard unusual noise and sudden loss of motive power. Initially I thought the chain has broken, but it wasn't broken. The front sprocket was missing. Furtunately I was not far from home. Does anyone know what can cause the front sprocket to fell? Of course I'm going to put new pair of sprockets and new chain. I selected a front sprocket with a tooth less (13T). I expect this to cause a bit more torque trasfered to the rear wheel. Hi please someone tell me I'm missing something obvious being a newbie! In the owners manual and Yamaha website the fuel capacity of the YBR tank is listed as 12 litres, so how come when i fill it up the needle is on full after about 7-8 litres of fuel is in? Cannot figure this one out unless it has a huge reserve tank which it doesnt, cheers.

Hi, I have a YBR 125 which is a grey import and has the faired headlight. It has just failed its first MOT because the headlight is aligned to the right. The dealer says that it would pass its MOT if I fit a suitable deflector. My question is - has anyone fitted one of these? I'm thinking of getting one for a car (but for a lhd to divert from right to left)and cutting to fit. Thanks. Andrew

Hi ive not had the ybr long its done 30k I've given it a full service oil an plug ect . I get a vibration/ noise that can be felt through the bike and its around 5000rpm and stops as soon as you come off the throttle.
