Hoping someone can help me, I have had my R1 (2000 5JJ) for many years and recently decided to get it back on the road. Unknown to me when I bought it, that it was an import, meaning the headlights dip the worng way. How it passed previous MOTs I dont know. Before I go a source a 2nd hand pair is it possible for them to dip the correct way, if not and I have to buy a 2nd hand pair how can i tell by looking at them that they are UK headlights. My R1 (2000 5JJ) as recently developed a fault causing a misfire at low Revs. When I have had it MOT'd it was Serviced, Oil filter and Plugs since then its been fine. But today took my bike for a quick spin and it feels like its misifring. up to about 4-5k if on main roads it runs like a dream just seems to do it round town. I have taken the tank off and the HT leads feel firmly in place, but I had noticed some petrol coming out the overflow by the side stand. I am good at fixing things just not at diagonising issues. Has anyone got any ideas as too what could be the issue. Thanks in Advance

Hey, thinking of just getting a BIT more power out of my bike, not for being silly with and more speed, but maybe give me the ability get out of a situation when doing 50MPH or something. My mate is a a mechanic and thinks an air filter, and exhaust might give me about 10 extra HP. Can anyone recommend any exhausts which give the bike a bit more power and maybe sound a bit deeper? And an air filter which gives it more power by letting more oxygen in ?

Hey, i want to do some cosmetic changes, but I don't want to mess up any of the original parts. Is there somewhere I can get for example cheap side panels, can't get them any cheaper than £60 or so, can't justify paying that for a piece of plastic, hell i'd prefer buy a 3d printer before I payed that and make my own lol.

Hey, when I had my bike it was missing a bolt on both sides but in the same place. Not sure what size bolt I need, does anyone here know? I have attached an image showing where the bolts are, need the one I have labelled "Size?". Also, the hole in the panel doesn't seem to align very good to where the bolt should go, is this because the other bolts I have put in are too tight and needs to wiggle room?

Hi guys, I'm new here and after a bit of advice. I haven't passed my CBT test yet but hoping to in the next month or 2. I'm researching a good bike as my first one, and the Yamaha R3 has come up quite a lot. Originally i was thinking the Ninja 250 or 300 but after researching I've read their very uncomfortable. I am a short guy at 5 foot 3 and I'm looking for something suitable for my height. Any suggesstions would be muchly appreciated, thanks.

Hello! I just want to ask if the american modells of Yamaha R6, have immobilizers? I bought a wrecked R6 -03 american modell, without Ecu or ignition. I bought an american ignition with key. And today i ordered an american Ecu. These two parts was ordered from 2 diffrent sellers, so the two parts are not from the same bike. So will this work? And one more question just for fun! Does any american R6 bike have immobilizer? I mean like the 09 Yamaha R6 for example. Thank you, bye!

Hi, ive bin wantin usd forks for my r6 for a long time and ive seen some of my year that have the older r1 forks on but you also then need the r1 wheel and yokes, i havnt a clue but was wondering if its possible to fit some 2005 usd r6 forks to a 2000 with only the fork legs and brake calipers? is the axel and yokes the same size as the 2000?

can anyone help my r6 has started to lock the front brake on when im using it the pressure gets more and more until its fully locked on and i have to bleed it to release the pressure!!, ive stripped the calipers and no problems there could it be the master cylinder? also anyone go a exhaust bracket to the frame for a high level scorpion exhaust ive had to bodge one.

Good morning. I wonder if anyone can help me with some information? I have a 2007 Yamaha R6 which is currently being converted into a Track day / Race bike. Before an informed decision is made, I need to know the weight of a standard set of R6 wheels. Obviously this will allow me to guage the weight saving . If any! Could anyone let me know the weight of standard 2007 R6 wheels?

Hi all, I have purchased a yamaha r6 from the year 2004. The engine has a pretty low mileage of 8900. The bike has not been used for the last few years with the last owner. Now a couple of days ago Ive been having some problems with my gearshifting. from neutral to 1st is oke and no problem. Then from 1st into the second gear it shoots into neutral. If i try this over and over again eventually it will change gear, Then from 2nd gear until six there is no problem at all. Does anyone know what the cause may be? I've read that the 99-02 models had some problems with the 2nd gear but this should be solved in my model. I can't find any simual topics with this pro…

Hello all, I've got a wonderful R6 (2003) rides like a dream! I'm thinking of changing the profile of the front tyre from 65 to 60, I've been told this increases handling especially into bends, has anybody done this? does it increase handling round bends? what are the pro and cons? Current tyres are stock Dunlops and I'm thinking of getting Michelin Pilot Power. Thanks for your time. MrF

I have a 2005 Yamaha R6 with 4000 miles on it. I drove it for a couple miles and stopped to talk to somebody. I left the key in the on position, but the engine wasn't running. The electric fan came on and I wasn't paying any attention to it, and I'm not sure how long it ran, maybe 10 mins? Anyways, when I tried to re-start the bike, it made a buzzing sound. The gauges would come on, and reset itself, but it wouldn't even try to turn over, it just buzzed at me. I began pushing the bike home, and after about 10 mins I tried to start it again, and it cranked a little, but then it buzzed.
