    Think im in the right place.. Ive recently bought a new (to me) set of fairings for my bike because some of the ones on there at the minute are cracked, these new ones however are a little faded in places and also quite scratched So i was just wondering if anyone knows the best way to remove the scratches and bring the colour back to life? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

  2. hi having problems with my dt 125. I started with the engine spluttering when you hit the power band intermittent but getting worse throughout the day now it will start tith the choke only and wont rev at all had carb off cleaned it thought it might have been float setting but there was plenty of fuel in the bowl checked reeds there ok to someone told me it could be the head gasket pulling air in could it do that? someone help me please!!!!!!!!

    My pride and joy was taken from the driveway outside my house at the weekend. I'm only 17, just left school and only 3rd party insurance so absolutly gutted. It is a 57 plate, originally blue/white but with the tank side covers and front mudguard painted black and the seat vinyl replaced with black so fairly distinctive. A good tidy looking bike. DEP silencer but original expansion pipe. I know I will probably never see it again but I will pay a reward if anyone can help me get it back. Thanks Billy

    It was mentioned in the DT forum that it was possible to convert a dt125/175mx to 12v electrics and that someone on this site might be able to help.....I have a couple of DT's and would like to have a stab at this....as well as better lights......is there any performance benefits?....any help appreciated.....

    Hi guys ok i am need of some help i have a dt125r 1990 3md with no log book or numbers but almost complete and a 1987 dt125lc 3sa with logbook and numbers but no lights wiring etc been used off road now question is are any of the parts transferable from the r to the lc so that i can put the lc on the road ie wiring loom, rear arm disc brake on rear ect bob

    ive put my dt125lcs on ebay having no money to do them up theres 2x mk1 and a mk2 loads and loads of bits item number 270591703037 sad to see them go but theres no point them sat there cheers

    Hi, cheers for reading, I have had an ongoing problem with my Dt, I fill the radiator every morning and check expansion, always plenty in the expansion tank, but after riding for 25mins I allow it to cool and check coolant levels, there's always some in the expansion but the radiator looks empty! I have flushed the system and checked for leaks, but it looks like the overflow is just pushing all my coolant out! There are a few splatters of coolant under overflow outlet, is there anyway of solving this? I have run out of ideas now. Any help is appreciated, Cheers Toby

    Hi guys, Anyone out there with an 89 DT125R which they know still has the original block in it. I've just checked mine and it has 3MB00 on it. I cant find anything on tinterwebz that says this is right (in fact things that say its wrong). I need to do the top end and know that the piston sizes differ 88-89 (56.40mm) and 90 onwards (56.00mm). Then i guess then ive gotta see if its already been bored total PITA getting a 2nd hand bike, i wanna know everything Thanks in advance guys $t0F

    Hi New to the site and had a look to see if this was covered before. Just got a DT125R 1994 and the neutral light and the oil lights do not come on when the ignition is switch on. Battery is charged, bulbs are ok and bike is in neutral Is there a single feed from the battery to these lights? Any ideas before I start stripping down the wiring loom. Cheers

    Hi, Michael here i am new to bikes and have got myself DT125R and was wondering what would be the right oils to use. I have got myself a Haynes manual which recommends a Yamaha air cooled 2T oil, however doesn't mention if it should be fully syntheic or not / premix so didn't know where to start. I would also like the know about the Motor oil tank at the front of the bike and if this should be the same oil as the engine oil which is recommended SAE 10w30 SE. Another note would be should i stick to the recommended oils or is there a better alternative?

    well people its inevitable i would end up pulling her to bits and giving my baby some new life ive bought a few bits and bobs as follows newly sleaved cylinder 3mb head athena gasket set small end bairings new piston/rings anti freeze led indicators. im gonna try get this all done before darkness sets in. now this is the first time i will try anything like this on a 2t so its all one massive learning curve, i was given advice to make sure i give everything a little bit of 2t oil for some extra protection on first startup and to help get the piston/rings into the bore. anymore tips and advice is welcome, i would take pics but i have just sold both my ip…

    Hi, wonder if anyone can help, just looking at buying a dt125r, I've seen an f reg for sale, the guy says it was very reliable but then blew a coil pack, he fitted another one then after 2 mths it blew again, does anyone know what would cause this & if it would be expensive to fix, is this common etc, many thanks.

    I am new owner and planning to do some off road stuff. I bought this little bike and it was running just fine but today when I started it the engine simply dies as soon as I put it in gear. It's not a question of being cold or low revs it almost seem to have no electrical power. It idles just fine and there's no problem when I pull the clutch in but as soon as I put the lever into any gear it dies. Grateful for any tips or ideas. Thanks

    I recently purchased a new float vavlve from yambits as the DT was leaking fuel when standing and running rich. Problem is it doesnt look anyhing like the original. The original is a screw fit and this is non threaded and has a rubber seal . Does it just push in ???? If not where on earth do I get a replacement from >????

    hi all... thursday night/friday morning going to work noticed a few strange things happen to my little dtr ill try explain in detail see if you lot have any ideas. right heading into work thursday i noticed the bike wouldnt go past 6krpm would bog and pop out the exhaust while pulling aggeresive in spurts go up a gear no problems aslong as i keep below 6k rpm now i posted in a thread about fake iridium plugs and i did have this problem with 2 of the iridium plugs i bought off fleebay but the original ngk plug was fine - now its doing it with all plugs grrrrrrrrr whilst parking her up leaving her to idle i noticed what i can say is a knocking noise coming from the to…

    HI ALL GOT A DT125R WAS RUNNING FINE WHEN PUT AWAY 18 MONTHS AGO WOULD NOT START HAVE GOT SPARK AIR FILTER CLEAN HAVE STRIPPED AND CLEANED CARB WILL RUN NOW WITH CHOKE ON NOT WITH CHOKE OFF IT WILL STAY RUNNING IF I SHAKE THE BIKE IF NOT IT DIES ALSO DRAINED TANK CLEANED IT NEW FUEL ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANKS ALL

    hi can someone help me on this problem i am having with my 89 dt125r i filled it up with oil and after 10 min there is no sign through the oil eye of there being any oil and u can see it as silver so i know there no oil but every time i fill it up start it there's no sign of the oil even when i don't start the engine in about 10-15 min its all gone there is no sign of it leaking anywhere but recently the oil was coming out of an overflow pipe which it isn't doing any more so any help u can give me will be very much appreciated
