Hello everyone, I recently bought a DT 175 E (american import 1978 ) and it had a brand new pattern carb on it .The guy who I bought it off gave me a box of bits and said the original carb was in there. I looked and found a Mikuni carb with the numbers 3JT 00 on it or that what it looked like.Does any one know if this sounds right. Thanks Mark

Hi, I have a DT 175 (Year around 2000) that I want to clean the carby because its running rough. How does one remove the 2 stroke oil line connected to the carb, so one can dismantle on the bench? It seems to be connected with a non-removable clamp around the actual oil line. Thanks in advance Steve

Hi i Recently bought a 1997 DT175 and it needs new sprockets , what size would be ok , it seems that when ime in 6th gear and doing 90km , it sounds like the bike is running out of refs does any one know what the standard sizes should be ? and what sizes i need to get a good take of and good top-end ? i have recently restored my 1980 dt 175 enduro it has done around the 6,000 kilometres mark. It starts first kick everytime and has only ever had 1 owner. i am looking to sell it and upgrade, what would it be worth?

Hi Can anyone advise me on swapping a 175mx head down to a 125 head? How much power loss, is it difficult? and will it struggle on a 175 body? Cheers Geo

Hi just a few questions firstly graphics want to get some up to date ones for it anyone know where to get some made up .next wheels I'm wanting to put SM wheels on it will 125 wheels off a dt or a wr 125 fit or will wr250 fit and last but not least exhaust does the dt 125 one fit,I've been researching all of these things and can't seem to find out for sure on nothing the wr 200 is very similar any help appreciated thanks paul

I've recently moved to Tanzania where I bought a Yamaha DT 225 Lanza. Been looking for some spare parts from UK Yamaha dealers, no joy from any of them - they say that the chassis number is not recognised on their system. As this may not be a bike that is sold in the UK, has anyone any idea where I'd get spare parts from?

Hey everyone, I bought my second dt lanza after my first one ( perfect condition) was stolen out of my backyard at night. I struggled in the beginning with a lot less power than my first bike had and a so called mechanic here told me its just because of the compression and that a piston ring change would solve the problem. So he did this and it was a lot better, until today.... Luckily I was just going around in town, when the engine made a different and not so pleasing noise, I switched into neutral and then the engine died, when I tried to kick start it, the starter didn't let me kick it, there is just a stop and I'm afraid that the piston ring broke and fell into…

HI there all, i have a H reg DT 50 MX The bike starts and i can ride for a few miles then dies and wont start again. ive stripped carb and cleaned and cleaned valve float needle and cleaned spark plug and there is a a spark. can anyone help

HI So My 1977 DT 175 1g1 is up for its annual MOT, it’s done almost 100 miles since last year, It has a new battery and new bulbs, well 100 miles old, It’s failed for having a head light aim too high, (‘tilt it down then’? I said) It does not have a discernible beam pattern, (they never did??) Oh and the indicators are dim and when they flash other lights are affected, (They always did that it’s only a 6 volt system) Nothing has changed since last year, that was my local Honda bike shop, the older guy who normally does it is on holiday so the youngster did it, Oh and he tried to start it like it was a 1960s 500 cc…

Hi all, having a few troubles tracking down a good replacement headlight for my DT, the old one has corroded and the lampholders have been brought back from the dead one too many times. I couldn't give a monkeys for originality either. So long as it fits and its 6v. Trouble is the replacements on evil bay dont have a sidelight, small issue i know but still important. Or is it? Do we have to have one on a bike of this age (1981). Also i need the lamp holders too, not always supplied, after reading the small print on a few of the 'bargains', mutter, e-bay, mutter, mutter. Anybody shed some light on it (couldn't resist). Or reccomendations of places to contact.

I'm on my way to making my magneto good again. It is a 1975 dt 175. A component in the magneto had come out of place and so as the bike was kicked over it caught on the coils and damaged them and bent itself. So I have had the coils re-done, a good job at Rex's. So all there is now is to replace the component that did the damage; the trouble is that i have no idea what it is called, and neither can I find any pictures/diagram drawings of it. How much would it roughly cost to get a DT 125 serviced?

Hi, I took my bike out for a long ride to Kilburn on the weekend, everything was running fine. On the return journey it started to loose power at low revs and I would have to keep pumping the throttle to keep her alive! I made it home and stopped off at the shop, when I came to start the bike it wouldn't kick over unless on choke, the engine was easily warm enough. Eventually after kicking it up for about 10mins it started but I needed to keep pumping throttle as before. I checked the spark plug and a bit of smoke came from the hole in the top of engine. Plug was black, changed it, made no difference, checked air filter and carb, both ok. I've now run out of ideas as im…
