  1. Does anyone know how I can get points for a 1981 yamaha xs 400 (and potentially an advance assembly and capacitor too?). Also, I am looking at a bike now, is there anything in particular that tends to be problematic with this bike that I should look out for?

After reading an old post by obriens65 I discovered Loomies, I ride along the A272 quite a lot and didn't know it was there, I usually use the mcdonaulds at the A24 junction but not anymore. The pie mash & beans was great and they do a lovely brew, not sure about radio 1 playing though, as I was always a radio Caroline man myself and could never bring myself to listen to what I considered a crap radio station that was brought in by the establishment to replace the pirate stations that same establishment killed of the pirates in the first place. Back in the day I was a bit of a rebel.

Lesson learnt. If it between you and a pig, never try to defend yourself, the pig will alway win regardless of the facts. The copper had the wrong road road on his statement, knew nothing about DTi guidelines, did not know how to target a bike, could not say what part of the bike or me he aimed at. At the distance he clocked me at I was in a dip in the road and had pictues that did not show the bike in the ...dip, he swore he could see it but could not say how much he could see, even though he was targetting me with his laser? He stated under oath that he said nothing after he cautioned me but admitted to mentioning my rear number plate and the colour of my bike when …

hi folks, can anyone tell me if it is legal to display a number plate on the side (facing the rear of course) in the UK? been having a look through the UK GOV and DVLA sites and although it doesnt specify you can, it doesnt specify you cant either as far as i can see. just double checking as over here in QLD most cruiser/harley riders have theirs on the side despite it being technically illegal so when i had my bobber conversion done i had my plate on the rear which unfortunately ruins the aesthetics a little. Grave(ly perplexed)

Ok this is going to sound letcherous but i dont care, this morning at work, 6 degrees according to the truck what do i see at the traffic lights. A delightfull young lady on a DT. What do i really see. A 17 yr old with a fine bust and nipples like scammel starter buttons (she was wearing a thin sweatshirt type off the shoulder thing and jeans) she was VERY obviously cold. No coat, no gloves, slip on deck shoes it made some of my old scars hurt just looking at her. She was pretty tho.

Hi, My Divvy has single front disk brake which doesn't seem very good at all. I've tried bleeding it which helped in that the lever no longer has the spongy feel as before but stopping power is still pretty ineffective compared with other machine I've ridden. Last time I took her in for an MOT I asked them to check the front disk and pads and was told nothing wrong (well I suppose they must have worked well enough to pass the MOT). Is this a common complaint do you know? I assume that's the reason that they upgraded later production models to twin disks at the front. Also I'm experiencing an alarming tendency of the rear wheel to lock up with only moderate …

I've just bought a 1992 Diversion 600, and it does everything I thought it would. However, when i start it the oil light comes on after a short time, stays on for a few minutes, and then disappears. There's no sign that it's using oil. Is this to do with the levels not registering until it's slightly warm, or have I got a problem? Any info from 600 owners would be very welcome, Thanks

  16. Hi Guys, Can anyone give me a few ideas, l would be grateful. I got a Yamaha Diversion P reg xj600s thats not starting, My problems started the last time l was riding it home from work. It started up fine and l allowed it to warm up before riding it, when l got near to home, the bike just lossed power, l tryed to rev it as it was still going along but it still died. I Parked the bike ,on the side of the road with drivers going passed laughing, I looked inside the tank to make sure l had fuel which was about half a tank (did try res aswell). Tryed to restart it until battery died, thought to try to bump start it by going up a hill near by (pushing it up hill was no fun wi…

hi all, i'd like to pick yer brains......I went to take my xj600n (the naked divvy) out for a spin after a couple of weeks standing but the clutch was jammed and will not release. Has anybody got any ideas on how to free it up. don't suggest run it into a wall cause i don't fancy that!! cheers.

Hi all, 1st-off apologies if I do something wrong as this is my 1st posting and I'm on a steep learning-curve. After some 15+ years away from biking I have made a return with the purchase of an XJ600n diversion. It is (hopefully) going to be a weekend fun-bike and weekday commuter. I also intend as a hobby to tackle most maintainance jobs myself. I recently removed the centre-stand to re-grease the bolts/pins and am in the process of re-fitting. I am struggling to replace the spring which holds the stand in place when retracted. Is there a technique anybody can recommend or a certain tool required?? Or, is it a case of brute-force and ignorance?? Any commen…

Hi all To those of you that might be interested in a cheap(ish) DIY GPS tracker. All it requires is an Android phone with GPS (even better with A-GPS) that would need to be hidden somewhere on your bike. A way to keep the phone powered 24/7 (12v to USB adapter). Android Lost, a free Android app (with a free online account). https://play.google....com.androidlost http://www.androidlost.com/ A "How-to" using a similar app called InstaMapper: http://www.instamapp.../diy.html#step4
