I keep my bike in the garden covered etc but it's still not good enough. Every time it rains I have to run out and cover it. I have been looking at sheds but I plan on moving house soon so it would be a waste. Also the only suitable place for a shed would block my outside tap and kitchen window. So now I'm thinking of alternatives. It doesn't have to be out fancy just a shelter from the rain and snow. I'm thinking of knocking a timber frame together as a starting point but then I thought about a gazebo type thing? Any ideas?

Hi guys, am fixing up a bike - took off old indicators (single wire) and swapped out for new twin wire indicators. Have connected the positive wire up but the negative is needing a place to be ground to. For the rear two I have ground to the frame but as for the front pair, well there not going to reach the frame. What do I do? Can I ground the wires to the forks or do I have to extend the wires to the frame..? Any ideas greatly appreciated. happy riding, Louis

No ice along my lane but when I turned onto a bigger lane where there was no tree cover I found myself on ice. Although I was on a straight and only going 15 to 20 mph, the scooter went to the left and went to the right. No damage to scooter but a badly sprained ankle and twisted knee. The same patch of lane and another section further along and a nasty deep dip with bends have ice most mornings. The council don't grit the lane. So whenever it's below freezing I end up going to work by car. Its over 2 weeks ago now and the ankle is almost recovered but the knee is badly swollen with a huge water swelling over the knee cap so I can hardly bend the leg and i…

As title suggests my bike xv125 has recently returned from a bad garage who seemed to make my bike unridable, one thing I have noticed when I pull the clutch in a loud single click is heard from the relays behind side panel, and pretty sure it's from one of the relays, anyone know why it would suddenly start doing this

Hey, just trying to order some nuts and bolts for the Aprilia and got myself in a cunfuxed state. I know bikes are nominally metric fine, but! I don't actually know what that is . Im seeing 0.8 coarse, 0.8 fine etc. But then there is 1.0 and 1.25 also in both coarse and fine. Feels a stupid question but what do I actually want. I have just got generic catchall kits for UJM in the past, never really thought about what metric fine was as such.

Spent most of yesterday evening dismantling my carbs you wouldn't believe what a job it is just to remove and get them back on the bike. After the usual removal of the tank & seat I need to take the battery the ICU & reg off, take off all the fixing bolts from the airbox then this is the good bit cos I used to struggle for over an hour to get the carbs in out until I realised I can get an extra inch space if I remove 2 bolts from the rear mudguard. So why am I telling you all this boring stuff! because as I reassembled it, I pushed one of the air box bolts in and hear the nut drop inside so l opened it up as it three screws I didn't need to touch to remove the fix…

Hello all, I’m a newbie to the forum, bikes and Yamahas. I found an old 1989 Yamaha YB100 Deluxe in a barn on my wife’s farm. It’s been sat there for some time and I managed to persuade her to let me take it home for some TLC. Whoever left it did so with fuel still in ??♂️. Going off the DVLA MOT checker it last ran out of MOT in 2014 with the same mileage on the clock as it has now, so has literally been stood. So far I’ve: - changed the fuel filters - drained the tank - replaced some fuel line - cleaned the carb - cleaned the float and float bowl - reset the pilot air screw - reset the oil pump setting - got it through an MOT It does run and runs fine at…

Hi all, this is my first time on the forum so thanks for any answers in advance. I have recently bought a DT 125 MX 1980. The idle screw has no effect on the idle of the bike (it idles so high it is basically screaming). I took apart the carb and noticed that the carb slide sits really high, maybe a third to half the way up the venturi chamber. Obviously this is the reason for the ridiculous idle. The bike has custom handlebars and forks from a more modern DT. Maybe when they were changed, the throttle cable was too small? How can I lengthen the throttle cable so that the carb slide can sit all the way down? The hex nut adjusters are all fully tightened so I can't ch…

Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting here i've just got a mysterious issue with my bike that I need to fix urgently and thought it would be worth posting here to ask for advice. In short my YBR 125 Custom (2016?) is having an issue where randomly (always over 7,000 rpm in 5th after 2 minutes or so) a massive amount of engine braking will kick in and the engine light will continuously flash (No code just constant quick flashes till the breaking stops). This will deceleration will happen for a seemingly random amount of time. This issue has resurfaced multiple times over the past year of me owning the motorcycle and it has me and my mechanic step-farther…

About twenty years ago coming back from Clevedon in Somerset on the M5 Northbound after watching our local football team play away to Clevedon with my son on the back of my Divvy 600 he decided to fall asleep going across the Avonmouth bridge in Bristol. My mistake was to shout his name and ask him if he was OK. What I should have done was to pull into the emergency lane and woke him up. But since that experience I've learned that is a common occurrence. (frightening) But the most frightening time was coming back from Poole in Dorset again watching our local team play and as luck had it I entered a 40mph speed limit just before Warminster on the A350 and he decided to f…

Hi everyone On Sunday was out on my 1998 YZF750R when I noticed the rev counter suddenly flick to 7000rpm then drop to show 0 rpm then a few seconds later ping up to 7000rpm again. The actual engine revs and power remained normal and no other issues apparent. On arriving home let the bike cool down, then turned ignition on. With the engine not running, the rev counter started cycling between 7000rpm and then back to 0 then 7000rpm again etc and repeat. Had a look on a online few threads noting that the "7000rpm" is a Yamaha diagnostic indication that points to a problem with the Exup system. So tank & fairings off and had a look. Examined the cable ends at …
