It seemed like a good idea at the time. Non runner, if I can get it to run using the parts I have laying around I will put an MOT on it and flog it, otherwise. I'm gonna break it.

  4. I've just received my parking permit, but I have no idea where to show it on my bike without it getting stolen. It's currently hanging on my back wheel under my cover by a piece of string. I'll be honest, I'm not holding out much hope that it'll be there when I get back.

THE BATTLE-BITCH IS BACK!!!!! Up the MoT centre, check over, test stuff, laser-alignment thingumies out and a thorough examination top to tail... I have a pass certificate, no advisories and a MASSIVE grin on my face!!! As is the custom, I have a couple of photos to show - Here's what is left of the damaged parts. You may notice stator rotor and pickup, stator cover, entire back end and rear light assembly, indicators, number plate, footpeg, mudguard and the rear wheel: The crash bar bore so much impact that it bent in and shattered the thick metal stator cover... ...and actually bent the stator rotor (which was subsequently used for a spot of weldi…

I have a sr250 custom bobber, I've cleaned the carb multiple times, still doesn't help much. It will crank and idle, was only running only on half choke, it will idle and ride now with choke off but still wants to spit back through the carb and backfire, also wants to shut off sometimes at stops. How can I fix this?

  8. Hi Guys, Can anyone give me a few ideas, l would be grateful. I got a Yamaha Diversion P reg xj600s thats not starting, My problems started the last time l was riding it home from work. It started up fine and l allowed it to warm up before riding it, when l got near to home, the bike just lossed power, l tryed to rev it as it was still going along but it still died. I Parked the bike ,on the side of the road with drivers going passed laughing, I looked inside the tank to make sure l had fuel which was about half a tank (did try res aswell). Tryed to restart it until battery died, thought to try to bump start it by going up a hill near by (pushing it up hill was no fun wi…

I had to go into Bradford Town and parked my bike in the usual place outside an Army careers office. When I had done my shit I come back to the bike and my helmet and gloves have been stolen. I went to the army careers to ask if they'd seen out. I always say hello to them when they are having a cig outside so a few of them recognise me. Checked the cameras and the bike is just out of view. Just bought a new pair of motocross gloves as well. Anyway luckily one of the army lads lent me his helmet so I didn't have to pay £20 to get a taxi home to get one of my others. Good job I have a spare. I usually lock the helmet to the handlebars but lately have slacked off, not that I…

  13. To say i am majorly pissed is an understatement. just been to move project FUCR from the long term car park to the works car park where i can work on it, only to find some theiving f*cking scrote has had away with my ace bars (including the top yoke!) and the dual headlight unit (bought for £60, never even been used). this is really starting to boil my piss. Not only this, about 4 weeks ago i happened to be driving past the caravan park at the end of the runway, and noticed that the rear lights on my caravan (i was pissed on ebay, its another project) have been stolen, the front locker prised open and the gas bottle nicked along with the electronics panel that was…

Spent the day out on my bike today, did about 260 miles which for me is a lot as I usually only do 50 or 60 miles at a time, maybe I'm just getting old or perhaps its my skinny arse that's got no padding on it but even with my big kickarse seat on my bike my arse is suffering. How the hell did Bippo manage the iron butt challenge?

Hi I was already having an minor issue with the bike misfiring and losing power. Had to take it in to Yamaha (they bent me over) and have the carbs cleaned, new plugs. She now runs well all the way through the gears when warm but in the mornings its taking up to 20 minutes to get it started through a mixture of bumping, turning over on starter (without killing it), and bumping again. It will stall on the tickover a good 3 or 4 times on or off choke. Full choke will not increase idle speed. If I rev it, it almost dies, then slowly increases to a rattly mid high range rpm without that deep pop/firing sound I would expect from a happy warm engine. Go back to start of the yea…

Finally back on the road after nearly 4 months. I repaired all the damage and replaced the ignition myself as well with the help of a friend. The ignition was a nightmare to swap. It was held in by headless bolts.

  18. Gents, I mainly use the FJ for commuting and the fairly short 2hr. jaunt to the Brixham office. Never for cruising or holidays so square butt syndrome never has been that much of an issue. Weather permitting I'm looking at going to Cloggie land to sail in a National Championship in two weeks time and my mate lives in the North so looking at 1050 Km (652 Miles) .......... one way. I'd like to cover distance pretty swiftly without having to stop every 50 yards because my butt is hurting. Putting fuel in the thing is about as much of a stop I'm prepared to make. (maybe the odd fag brake) What tips, hints do you know of to prevent that. Cheer…

After being knocked off my bike and left for dead in a hit and run two weeks ago I've just come within inches of being smashed into again! Some dickhead has pulled out in front of me after watching me come from the top of the road and left it until the last minute to pull out on me. Causing me to slam on. I caught up with the idiot at a junction and proper gave him a mouthful. He wouldn't even look at me because he knew he was in the wrong. I never will quit but sometimes I think is it worth it? The standard of driving seems to get worse each day. Every time I go out on my bike I'm taking a gamble. I'm really fed up of it now. I think my problem is I use my bike daily as …

  20. Hi, after 18 years in my garage I've decided to sell my beautiful bike. Starts every time and brake and indicator lights work. New battery installed but can't get the side and head lights to work. I believe they are supposed to work when the engine is running? The dash blue light (high beam indicator) not working so clerarly an issue which is beyond my knowledge. Could it be the regulator or coil? Checked all cables for cracks etc. Any help appreciated. Thanks Keith
