Hello all, New member here, have just bought my first bike after much deliberation - decided in the end to go the sensible route and so I am starting with a Dragstar 125. It's a great-looking bike considering its engine size imo, I'm not too fussed about speed at this stage I'd rather get to where I'm going in one piece. Anyway would be nice to chat to any other Dragstar owners out there, will keep you all updated as to my progress. Cheers Johnny

New member just saying hello. Been browsing the forums and you all seem like a friendly bunch! Coming to biking pretty late in life but better tat than never, I suppose. Got my first bike on Monday at the tender age of 38...that's me, not the bike. Looking forward to getting out and about once MOT is sorted. Maybe I'll catch some of you on a ride out soon. Cheers!

Alright lads! My names is Kevin, nicknamed as Bunney as its my surname. I live in Cork City, Ireland. I'm 16.. I drive a Yamaha Aerox YQ50 not many of them where I live. It's white in colour, Since I bought it I had nothing but trouble. Heres a list of what I replaced since I bought it, Top end (Pistons,Rings,Head,Barrel and all gaaskets) Water pump and Flywheel. Brakes twice (Driving it a bit hard I think) Front Disc Drive Belt Clutch springs. I'm looking for a bit of information on my aerox, I want to tune it up for as cheap as possible, I heard something about taking out every second Roller? Also heard tighter springs for the clutch. I would c…

Hi everyone a bit of advice needed on my beloved R6. I was takin my r6 to the m.o.t centre last week had been riding about 5 miles when I lost power had to drop down the gears to keep the power on and everytime I opened the throttle she was very sluggish and then started backfiring I came to the bottom of the road and she just died on me I pushed the starter button and had to keep the revs up as she wouldn't run idle she just kept cutting out. She had been sitting over the winter with a little petrol in her but just when I left home I needed petrol and filled her up she ran perfectly for approx 5 miles then the problems started even now she starts up fine and runs idle fo…

After getting knocked off my last XJ6 and the bike getting wrote-off, i didnt imagine i'd get a new one for the same price as the first (£4100). However today put a deposit down on a XJ6S from George White for £3999 on 0%. Chuffed to bits...only downer was dropping the TDM coming out of work....oh well you win some you lose some. Will be glad to be an XJ6 owner again, they are so underrated it is unbelievable.

Just bought my 07 Vstar 1300 and am approaching the first valve adjutment interval. The Yamaha maintenance manual states that you have to drain engine coolant, remove throttle bodies, intake manifold assemblies, thermostat inlet hoses etc. Has anyone done a valve adjustment on this bike? Is all this draining and removal really necessary? Thanks for your input.

Hi, I got a radiator cover for my XJ6 for xmas. In order to change it I have to disconnect and drain radiator. Just want to know before I do this if bikes need any specific anti-freeze/coolant, or whether I can just use the pre-mixed stuff from halfords etc. Thanks in advance. Dan

Hi - I popped my 2000 TDM850 over to the local garage saturday and used the jet wash being very careful not to point it anywhere vital. Afterwards all was well (and clean), I lubed the chain, and took it out for a run and didnt have any problems. Didnt use it Sunday but this morning I started it with choke which normally runs the engine at an extra 500-1000rpm depending on how much choke. But...after about a minute, and without touching the choke, the engine slowed to normal idle. Once it warmed up I took the choke off and it sounded like it was running on one cylinder only and had to use the throttle to keep it running on both cylinders. I figured if it was moisture, the…

Ordered a pair of boots of the internet and they don't fit :-( They are UK size 8 and I can't get them done up around me legs. It's now the seconds pair I have tried :-( I have no idea either if I have wide feet - 9.5cm width so quite confused where to go next. Not looking for anything expensive, just want something under £100, that I can use for commuting and walking around the shops etc. Help

If I could have any bike at this moment in time I would have a Ducati Desmosedici to satisfy my need for speed, and a BMW F 650 GS for the trailbiker in me. What is seen as the Roll's Royce of motorbikes, and the Ferrari of motorcycles?

Done the deal today to chop the XJ6 in for an FZ1. Nearly new with a few handy mods. Will be sad to see the XJ6 go, but as I have no car now, wanted a bike that was a tiny bit more fun. Had a ball-ache with the insurance, when I renewed the XJ6 I put the panniers and hugger as mods: the result of which means the underwriter wouldn't cover the FZ1. Had to cancel and go elsewhere, money down the drain. The best bit was both the old and new companies told me panniers, huggers, poncy indicators and stuff don't need to be declared. Damn it try to play by their rules and they still stiff you..... ,,,,, can't wait for the FZ1, 150bhp, EXUP, very excitificated n…

I have realised I need some boots, but underestimated how expensive they are. Also all the the different types that are available. Initially I thought about some motocross style ones to match my bike and other gear, then I thought I need something more practical, so i thought about some normal Caterpillar/Timberland styler boots. I don't know what sort but I need some, I'm going to have to spend at least £100 to get a decent pair. Any advice/recommendations?
