Hey peeps!. Not been online much recently, inbetween buying cars in from Japan, rebuilding my boat and galavanting around the world with work it seems that FUCR has been left in the corner of the garage now surrounded by DT125LC bits, f*ck knows where the XJ Turbo has gone and the DT50 hasn't been seen for months. Currently i'm out in Cyprus, and tbh it gets boring here, you can either become a gym monster or a beer monster, pumping iron isnt my thing and there's only so many times you can wake up in the middle of nowhere naked in a pool of your own bodily fluids before you start to question your direction in life, so whilst most people bring a book/kind…

Both bikes are booked in for this week. I've gone over them this weekend and they should both pass, but aren't winter MOTs a pain in the arse. Dont like taking the bikes in covered in winter crap, so the thaw came just in time to unfreeze the hose pipe for a clean up. Been out on them both today, both running fine, but if i've got fettling to do, I'd rather do it when its warmer. Or am I just nesh

Hi All Have posted this in the newbie forum but thought it best to post here as well to get some replies. I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to…

Hello all- I recently replaced the original reeds on my dt175 with boyesen power reeds and the bike is now running very hot. It was in storage for a while and ran fine before the upgrade. Has anyone else used these reeds on this machine and had trouble?

I'm still in the middle of a front brake calliper rebuild, and have noticed that the standard rubber hose that Yamaha provided is most definitely on the way out. What about braided lines? Worth the extra money? Decent for every day use? Are the claims of better feel true?

Hi All, Did a stupid mindless thing the other day and tried to drive off with me disc lock still on . . .IDIOT!! I'm normally religious about taking it off before I stick my lid on but something distracted me. Luckily no damage to the forks or calliper but I have popped one of the "floaty bits" on the disc though. I’ve had the disc on the lathe and it’s not bent but as there are only 5 out of 6 fixing now holding the disc it’s getting replaced. I’ve been looking at the Armstrong discs as they seem reasonable (http://www.msa-direct.co.uk/armstrong-front-brake-disc/yamaha-xj6.html), anyone used them? Experiences? Recommend something better? As I need to change both d…

I recently replaced my front brake pads with ceramic pads. Is there really a big difference in metal and ceramic pads? All went well unitl I went to test them out and noticed I have a significant delay in coming to a stop once the front brake is applied. Anyone have this issue and a resolution?

Hi guys, another question for yous. I've changed the brake pads on my bike and bled the system. What could be causing a lot of play in the lever before the caliper activates as the lever is hitting my fingers when I pull back - I like to have two fingers still on the throttle when I go to brake.. Cheers for now, Louis

Was running EBC HH pads in standard R1 5VY calipers gripping standard discs, which were a slight improvement over the OE pads. THEN a Friend got me to try some TRW LUCAS (German spec) front pads, and once bedded, THEY REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! Any of you out there want some grippy stuff, then I suggest you try these, you will be ammased at how good they are. (not tried the back ones, Coz standard pads will lock it anyway) They retail for about £23 a caliper, so not too expensive either. (not tried the back ones, Coz standard pads will lock it anyway)

Hi guys, have been having a bit of bother with a stiff front wheel for a while now - has been on and off. I'm looking at the piston and am wondering if it's meant to sit flush with the caliper or if it's meant to rise above the caliper by about 2-3mm. Cheers, Louis. Happy riding
