hey, This is my first winter with a bike, and I wasn't sure if they needed any special care during the colder months. Basically, I'm gonna be away for about a month, so I was just wandering if there is anything I should do to prevent the bike from becoming damaged due to the cold, especially since it won't be used for a while. I don't have anywhere to store it inside so my options might be limited. cheers!

Well, the weathers certainly picked up these last couple of days. Loads of bikes out today, took both mine out yesterday, the cruiser in the morning, the fazer in the afternoon, bit cool on the legs after and hour or so, but no big deal. Was going to ride out to Newark autojumble tomorrow, Motorcycle News says its on, but good job I checked the jumble website, that says its next week. Just need to stock up on consumables (tiewraps etc) used through the year. Off to Stafford again next month, likely on the saturday, Im at donny on the monday for road bikes only trackday, hoping to get down to 2 minute lap time. id be well chuffed. Don't know if any of you guys have seen this but take a look - " URGENT ACTION NEEDED - by YOU! Apparently Transport for London are receiving very few comments from motorcyclists about the new London-wide TfL trial of motorcycles in red-route bus lanes. The latest news is that as part of the evaluation of the scheme 'users views' will be taken into account and 'numbers responding' will play a part in this. Clearly none of us want to see a situation where 5,000 cyclists have protested and 200 motorcyclists support. It's this kind of thing that would shift the political balance against us. However, cyclists campaign groups are steadily orchestrating a build …

  10. my bike has been converted from drum to hydro disc by the previous owner although i not happy with the set up the arm on the master cylinder moves on a 45 degree angle instead of in a straight light an there is hardly any travel on the arm making it impossible to bleed the brake if i ever wanted in my opinion it would be alot more straight forward if i could fit a cable pull caliper (running the cable from the pedal to the caliper with an adjuster to get the tension right) but the only one i know off is from a sach madass an they are rarer then hens teeth i ve tried using find a part but had no sucess are there any other cable pull calipers out there?

Did any1 go to the Bikesafe event in Blackpool on Sunday?... I managed to get some nice saddle bags, there were some beautiful bikes there!... Some of which, look as though they must only come out of the "temperature controlled garage" for these shows... Absolutely mint!.. I might get slapped for saying this but there was this awesome honda shadow!.. absolutely gorgeous!.. I tried my luck on the guess the 6 digit code for the harley rocket.. (1 in a million chance).. but nope, I was destined not to win it.. :-(

Took my pride and joy to an abandoned outdoor car park near me today for some practice before I sit my CBT. Clocked up 10 miles in the sun, going round and round, it was fantastic.... Right up until the point where I was having so much fun I didn't notice quite how fast I was approaching the wall, had a mini-panic and finally dropped her! Thankfully I was only doing about 10mph when I went down, so there was only some minor scuffing done to the bike, as well as the leg trapped under it. Just thought I'd let you all join in the laughs at my first spill...

I brought my bike initially for commuting and to escape the ridiculous price of public transport. I did a practice run today to and from work, with my boyfriend driving in front/behind (acting as my wing man), and apart from a few minor things, I was doing really well (for someone who has only had about 4 days of riding experience). Pretty confident with my gear shifts, stopping & starting, slow riding in traffic and hazard perception - all were basically spot on. I was almost home, and I got up to some lights, and I must have forgotten to check my gears (I must have been in third gear, I think) as when the lights went green, I added some throttle and the bike…
