Hi, I have a 2003 R1 with a standard can on it, and now I’m looking into getting a nice can fitted. I’m looking for something that looks nice and sounds nice too. The short cans are really what I would love to have, but I’m not sure if they can be fitted to the bike. Which can would you recommend? I have something like this in mind…

Hello and thanks in advance for your input. I do not currently ride a motorcycle, but, am planning on taking the safety course and buying a bike before the end of the year. I have been wanting to ride all of my life and am finally in a position to do so. Being that I have no experience I wanted your advice on which Yamaha cruiser to buy....I was considering the V-Star 950 but don't know if that would be to much bike at this stage of the game. What do you think? I am in my 30's 5'11 and 185lbs in case that needs to be factored in.

OK boys, girls, kings, queens and all in-betweens.... I have FINALLY managed to get the 650 Dragstar down to most of the basic component parts, enough that I can start polishing and painting frames, sub-frames and all that. The question is what to do with it... It's originally the standard black & chrome colours of 2001: It's a sorely used & all-weather-abused bike with almost 50k on the clock, and will be up for sale as the SWMBO owner really wants a Hornet-like bike. While checking sale values, I saw this: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201307047645719/sort/pricedesc/usedbikes/cc-to/700cc/cc-from/600cc/model/xvs/make/yamaha/page/1/…

I've decided to get a Fazer again, but can't decide between a FZS600 (like my old one) or a 2003 FZ600 for a slight update. Anyone ridden both, had experience, got any opinions to help me decide? Cheers Graham

Recommendations on which helmet to get? I'm looking to spend $200-$300 on a full face style. Since I am on old fart , hold the comic book/superhero/deathwish graphics. A plain ole red or black or grey bucket, thanks very much. With a sprinkling of snow on the ground and it being -9C, the bike season is well and truly done around here. so i'm hoping to score a winter deal on a helmet. When I last biked, the big manufacturers (that I recall) were Bell, Shoei, and Arai.. AGC and Nolan were around too. My local dealer stocks stuff like Zox, HJC, as well the above brands and other brands that I don't recall just now. They are a fairly large dealer. (About 300 bikes…

Which bike would be safer for a new rider to go down the motorway with, doing 65-70mph, a Yamaha R6 or a 125cc sportbike (eg Honda CBR125R, Aprilia RS125 etc)? :?

I brought a project bike and,as it had spent all of it's life in a seaside town ,it had a badly rusted frame...when it came back from the blasters the bottom rails where like swiss cheese with lots of horrible bodge welding all over it...pretty certain it was out of alignment too. So I brought a s/h frame with number and v5,all legit...if I rebuild all parts onto fresh frame which v5/reg do I use?...the original bikes because the majority of parts have come from it?.. or the replacement frame?...unable to get a definitive answer from dvla at the moment but will try again.

So I go to get some oil for my bike as I've worked out she is a little low (after finding out where the viewing hole is and getting some to hold the bike up) and I've bought some Castrol Power 1 4T 10w-40. Had a look in the manual and whilst 10w-40 is fine the API should be SE, SF, SG or higher and as this is SJ, I presumed this will be fine. I had a quick look online as I know nothing about API ratings and apparently I shouldn't be using SJ and now I'm just confused. What are peoples recommendations as to the oil I should be using? Cheers /Steve

Hi All not been on for a considerable time, mainly as I flogged me Fazer 600 a while back. I currently ride a Honda CBF1000 GT. Nice bike but feel I want a change. There a few toys I am thinking about getting. If anyone on the Forum has any of the bikes I am thinking about would appreciate some feed back please. One of the reasons I am coming back to a Yamaha is the CBF 1000 seems to have an alternator problem as did the early Blade. I do a good bit of touring and have been down to the South of Frnca a few times. I am looking at Either an FZ1 or the FZ800 I assume it is called the FZ800? Another good candidate is the TM 900, now I know the TM is getting long in th…

im about 2 weeks away from needing a pair of new tires have seen a pair of bridgestone bt021 at the price of £158.00 incl delivery then obviously fitting on top of this. they are to be fitted to a yamaha thundercat 600cc. i currently run the bridgestone bt020 but the rear has flat spotted in the centre and the front doesnt give me much confidence when pushing hard in the twisties. has anyone got any reviews on the bt021 good or bad i want to hear all comments. also for another 20 pound i can get the michelin 2ct. are these worth the extra 20 pound or is it just another marketing gimmick to get more pound notes out of our pockets trying to convince us that the edg…

Hi, There are a few different types of gloves available but as the seasons' just changing which ones would be best? I'm feeling the short style summer ones would be ok for the moment but I'm not sure how much use I would get out of them. Do I really need winters' already? Cheers.
