I've got two bikes and now a third is greeping into my greedy vision, another old dog needing a home. but, tbh I don't need it and I can't really afford the running costs..it's that acquisitive must have thing like in the TV programme Porridge where Fulton Mackay says that the prisoners steal things and then think whether they need it afterwards

Two whales, a male and a female, were swimming side by side in the ocean. Suddenly, the male whale spots a ship in the distance. He recognises it as The whaling ship that killed his father. Filled with anger, he says to his female companion, "That's the ship that Killed my father! Let's swim closer!" When they were close enough, the male said, "Why don't we swim under the Ship and blow air through our blow holes and break the ship into a million Pieces? That will be sweet revenge." And the female agreed to this. So they each took a deep breath of air, swam under the ship, and blew Enormous amounts of air under the ship. The ship flew into the air and Cra…

Hey guys, First off, nice to meet you all. (as far as meeting on a forum goes...) I'm new here. Just got one of my first bikes.. a 1973 TX500 Got the carbs off, and cleaning. Primary cover is off for general inspection/cleaning. I'll have some picture for you guys soon enough. Anyway.. I've been scouring the internet for a service manual for this thing (there is a loud tapping going on in the engine, and I'm guessing it's either valves or the cam chain slapping around... anyone know how I can figure out which it is?). I've never tightened a cam chain, or done a valve job. Hell I've never taken off a primary casing. Having tons of fun, but I need …

Here's a real curved ball guys - Just aquired a lovely 1981 TY175 with a daytime MOT and no lights. Flippin insurance companies want crazy money to insure it - i.e. more than a Z750 I've just sold. I've also got an RSV4 Aprilia Tuono but MCE won't insure the TY under a multibike policy for an array of totally irrational reasons. The various companies also tell me that I can't use my no claims discount on more than one insurance policy - Errrr, hang on a minute, I don't think its possible to ride 2 bikes at the same time DOH. Also insurance is about risk so if you've got no claims discount it should mean that the discount applies to however many policies you have!…

Hi all. Newbie here. I am restoring my 1974 TY250 (I bought it new) I would like to swap out the standard 428H chain and sprockets for a 520 size. Is this a common modification? How do I go about this? If I don't do this mod is there a source for standard sprockets? I am thinking of close to original gearing of 14/52. Thanks for any advice. I am located in Melbourne Australia.

hey guys i need some opinions on whether this will work or not because i think i might have had a bit of a brainwave!!! my ty (very very very rotten) like most bikes depends on using the frame of the bike for an earth and it is a good way of doing it BUT in my bikes case, the last idiot who owned my bike (whom was VERY good at taking things apart but not so hot at putting back together) left my bikes loom dangling and left the exposed points where the components earthed to rot and and im now getting no end of grounding issues with the bike, with continuity through the frame being a bit of an skill to find on it, now heres my clever idea: bearing in mind my bike on…

Hi all im looking to see if any of you folk can tell me your choice of tyres for this bike. At the moment it has bridgestones on it and i do like the bridgestones as i have always had them on the sports bikes but im wondering if there is maybe a better choice for this bike. Also has anybody ever heard of putting bigger tyres on this bike, I know your not supposed to mess with the tyre sizes but just wondered.

have you seen the big guy at the barn selling his tyre gunk stuff,£25-£45 quid a pop. suppose you get a nail in your tyre ,the gunk fills the peirce and saves you pushing your hack ,good.BUT what if a screw goes in i would imagine it will pull out the rubber in the thread of the screw ,now will his spunky stuff fill that gap i dont think it would ,and out of nine punctures ive had ,seven were screws , one was a blow out ,and one, yes it was a nail.so is it worth it

Hi New to forum, back to biking. Just recently bought an RD350F2 to ride for the summer, back tyre is about done and wondered if any RD riders can suggest the best tyres for the summer months. Hopefully will be mainly dry miles unless caught out by the weather. Since buying the bike have noticed that it is really skittish when on the white lines!! Sometimes scaringly so as I whip out to overtake then again when crossing to pull in. Is this normal for the narrow tyred RD's. Current tyres are Avon Roadrunners which I used to use on my RD200 many many years ago. Any suggestions welcome cheers Dave
