i recently bought a YBR125 and i'm getting more confident at cornering and stuff now, i find myself at full throttle most of the time and when pulling onto the dual carriageway i'm accelerating up to about 9500 rpm in 3rd and 4th to get some speed up. i'm just wondering if this is thrashing the bike a bit hard? most of the time I'm sat in 5th gear doing about 60ish mph (indicated) at about 8000rpm. also the bikes only done 3600 miles, is this past the running in phase or is running in a thing of the past these days? thanks for any advice, being a newbie i'm a bit unsure as to how much i can push it without breaking it! Rob

  6. Seasons greetings, peeps! Was wandering there was some 'murican friendos out there who could help me with shipping... Been on the US Ebay and found a set of fork legs which I need to get my new chappy up and running, but the guy won't ship internationally :(, was wondering if there was anyone out there who could act as an intermediate and take delivery of these forks and forward them on to me?. I'm out in Arizona for a final piss up next year before I leave the services, but kinda want to get it done before then. Beer tokens will be awarded ofc!

Hi to all the Yamaha club folk. Name's Matt from Lancashire. Just taken my CBT ( August 29th ) at the age of 36! Bought a new YBR125, aim to ride that for the next couple of years to gain confidence and improve my roadcraft prior to doing my full test. Had never rode uptil this summer - having promised myself for the last four I would learn!! Loved every minute of my CBT ( even my instructor yelling at me! ).Bought my bike a week later which arrived five days ago but have only been out today as the weather has been awful and today was my first day off work!! The only concern I have had had so far is it seems really tight between my left foot rest and gear shift…

Ok, so it started out as a small idea and grew. I AM NOT much of a poet, but I figured I would share anyway. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, I've envied you since I was small. Dressed up in your boots and leather, Riding like you sure looked like a ball. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, It was a beautiful day when you rode by me, The sun was out and your chrome was shining. Made me smile because you looked so free. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, I saw you on the side of the road. We were both broke down, you got yours running, I had to wait for my car to be towed. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, Its been 25 years an…

Evening, chaps. Sorry it's been a while...I have been popping in and reading what you've all been up to. Couldn't make The Squires for reasons I'll go into in a minute, but the video and the pics look brilliant. A good time seems to have been had by all... Anyways...couldn't get to my MOT on the Friday evening as I had to work, so booked it in for 9am on Saturday. Got up really early and was going to take it for a long ride first. Obviously I really WAS on my way to the testing station, officer...but the fecker wouldn't start. It was turning over nicely but just wouldn't catch or fire up at all. Got my crosser/mechanic neighbour to have a look and we decided to chan…

Hi, having read what some want in a newbie threat I will do my best to post that in here. inches = don't have any location = atm mostly in the garage or the bike wreckers searching for bits and pieces rides = yep have a few of them only 2 run atm the rest are either on the way out the door (the smallest scooter I own Eaglewing 150 trying to find a new home for it) or waiting to be worked on. I just bought a xj 750 that needs a tiny bit of work and as a bonus it came with a second 750 ( this turned out to be a 900 ) for spare parts. Both of those have matching numbers and I will eventually put the 900 on the road too. And somewhere in this whole mess I have a FJ 11…

On the first day, God created the dog and said: 'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.' The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?' So God agreed. On the second day, God created the monkey and said: 'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.' The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?' And God agreed. On the third day, God created the cow a…

  17. In a typical mans world. A typical bloke, having split from his latest girlfriend, decided to take a holiday. He booked himself on a cruise and proceeded to have the time of his life, that is, until the ship sank. He found himself on an island with no other people, no supplies, nothing, only bananas, coconuts and the few fish that he managed to catch. After about four months, he is lying on the beach one day when the most gorgeous woman he has ever seen rows up to the shore on a boat.. In disbelief, he asks, 'Where did you come from? How did you get here?' She replies, 'I rowed from the other side of the island. I landed here when my cruise ship sank a fe…

having sat under a nice warm blanket since October, with a slow trickle charge keeping her battery active, I have broken the news to her that I have decided to ship her off to a new home. Sometimes she brought me home with a huge smile, but if the road surface was a little rough (and I live in the lakes where nice tarmac is a rare thing to behold) I'd often need traction just to get off her........ So today I have struck a deal to swap the XJR1300 for something a little more akin to the environment up here in the North....... from 1 wheel drive to four in the stroke of a pen....... I'm back down to a two bike garage again.......... (but my eye is ope…

Hi everyone, Just registered today, I am Ken, 22 years old from just outside Edinburgh, I am well into my bikes even from an early age. I own a motorbike breakers and have got a bad habit of keeping to many bikes for myself than breaking them for spares. I have got a few bikes of different makes, I have got a couple of Yamaha's, I have got an old aircooled dt125 field bike modified with an alloy petrol tank, monoshock and a few other bits and bobs. Also got 2 RD350LC's that i am doing up, one a road racer with rickman fairing and race body kit, The other a more standard type with belly pan and bakini fairing, still needing a few bits and bobs. Cheers, Ken
