Hi everyone, sorry for the short notice but the Yamaha Owners Club wesSite will be down from 1300 GMT Tuesday 3/Feb so that we can move our hosting. This should take under 48 hours. Our new hosting will be on a distrubuted server platform which will mean that the site will be much more reliable and since several servers will be answering your queries rather than one, much much quicker :-) The inconvenience will be worth it!

Hey there guys. After many months trying to sort my FZ400 1985 out for MOT, i finally thought it was ready to go. So I booked it on monday and took the wee beastie on the 15mile trip there. All went well with brakes, lights, bearings and the general workings of the bike until..... drip drip drip drip. MOT guy noticed a fuel leak pissing all over the side casing. Nooooo it was going so well. After inspection noticed the fuel pipe connected to the carbs had a split in it. Thank god the guy was easy going. We took the tank off and cut the split off. It was my fault for using cheap jubilee clips. After the disaster it passed with flying colours. Just need to get it taxed and …

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me. I've got a 2006 fz6 and when i accelerate fairly hard from low revs there is a slight vibration from the engine. It's only until the revs have picked up to around 4000 but i'm not sure whether that's normal or if there may be a problem. Any advice would be much appreciated. cheers

So I'm looking into all the things I want to use my soon to be bike for after I buy it, other than the security aspect (posted: ) I wondered if it was possible to do long distances on it, although not reglarily. I've had mixed responses from looking at previously posted topics on this forum and others, ranging from "NO, don't be daft!" to "sure, I go from london to Scotland every other day" - kind of responses. Asking my cycling instructor, they suggested not to try doing the 200 mile ride as it would shake me to pieces and my overheat my bike. But it must be possible in some capacity or another? If it usually takes 4 hours in my car to do this trip with 1 break…

After reading a thread on here and thinking about it, i have decided to tour East Anglia on a small bike . Why use a small bike i hear you say? well because it`s a challenge and a lot cheaper than using my ZXR and i dont trust my XS400 yet plus i am unemployed so i need to keep costs down. i have been reading up on this and some people have done some impressive tours on little bikes, like Lands End to John O`Groats or to spain and back!! I am going to start off small, ie 100 mile overnighters and see how it goes? if things go well i will then start to branch out into bigger tours that are further away from my home. i`ve been looking for weeks for a …

I am a new rider and I feel like I am doing pretty good except that I accidently give the bike gas when i am braking sometimes. Everyone who has looked at my bike says that the brake lever is too far a reach for my hands. The yamaha dealer in town says that they do not know of any way to adjust this other than having someone heat the aluminum brake lever and slightly adjust the shape. This will however weaken the metal possibly causing it to snap. This really unnerves me when it happens but I do not know how to fix it. Does any one know of any brake levers that will fit a Yamaha 250 Virago that has a steeper angle ( making it closer to the throttle)??????

  14. Started by 94SecaII,

I bought my 94 SecaII last October from a motorcycle enthusiast. This guy had bought it from a husband and wife and the wife rode the SecaII and her husband had another bike so I'm pretty sure that my bike was not abused (as it was ridden by an older woman). The guy I bought it from did some work to it such as: jet kit and carb rebuild (dunno what stage jet kit), K&N Velocity Stack intakes for each carb, he replaced the vacuum fuel pump with an electronic one that would normally go on an ultra-light aircraft - he said he matched the PSI of the electronic pump exactly (somewhere around 4 PSI) and also installed a Vance&Heines 4into1 exhaust. He only put about 500 m…

Now I know it is not everyones cup of tea, but I have been riding a BT1100 bulldog (02 Plate) for 4 years now, it is great fun and I have become emotionally attached to it - it has caused much marital discord at home!! Sadly it became rather unwell recently when the starter clutch seized, this was repeaired in time for the IOM TT but sadly whilst over the pond she failed again. and the AA had to get me back home. When it was taken apart I was informed that the cam shaft had snapped. Has anyone else had this heppen to them and could this be linked to the worked done on the starter clutch (completed by a Yamaha dealer using genuine parts)? As it occured 3 days after the ya…
