So plan to replace my front and rear sprocket and chain on my xv125, it uses a stock 13 tooth front and 47 tooth rear, If I replace the rear with a 45 tooth, what what effect will this have on the bike?

Hi. gang. Recentley bought a 2000 w reg xjr 1300 sp. Although very pleased with the bike, looks, grunt, accelaration etc. Took the bike on a short tour of the cotswolds and shropshire, with my wife, tank bag and panniers. Found the rear shocks were not quite up to the job and found it to be bottoming out and even grounding the main stand in some uneven corners. Before we set of, id put the shocks on the hardest setting (2 clicks with the c spanners) and the circlip above the shocks is in the fourth groove. Any tips on stiffening further, or at 30,000 miles do you think the shocks are past it.

Hi everyone. My first log-in and first post. I have just come away from a dealer who has offered me a brand new 09 FZ1 Fazer (1000cc) non-ABS for £7525 OTR with 36 months interest free credit. The bike is a UK bike and I can have a choice of red or blue. Question: Is this a good deal, or what? I look to you guys, the experts, to give me some steer here. if it is a good deal, what is the preferred colour amongst the Fazer community? Many thanks in advance Gary

Hi all, I have mentioned before that i am working on a 1978 Yamaha xs400. I have done everything i could to get this motorcycle running but to no avail. I have decided that i am going to tear it all down and rebuild it from scratch. Before i get started i would like to ask a question that has been on my mind and would appreciate any responses. First of all I am planning to rebuild the engine. This motorcycle has only a kickstarter so i was wondering if it is possible to add an electric starter to it and would anyone have a manual to show me how to add one? If it is not possible to add one, could i buy a whole engine that comes with an electric start for this cycle and…

  8. Thought I would post some pics of some additions. All basic, unlike some of the work people are doing on here.. Added screen (tiny and pointless one!) Engine sliders, and some new levers. Had new tyes fitted today and the guy said my clutch was too tight and needed some slack (something about damage when it heats up?) Is this true? He loosened it a bit but I prefered it the way I had it.. sure I will adapt though. Another thing mentioned was that the head bearings seem to be "notched" as in front wheel kind of tries to stay in the centre. I didn't really notice till he mentioned it. Not sure if I am (or should be) bothered. Next up I think frame sliders and knu…

Braked too hard and the wheel locked and went form underneath me, luckily im fine and the bike cosmetically is pretty good, however.. when i start it up it goes straight to about 2 and a half thousand revs just standing still.. which is slightly worrying, im clueless about bikes so be easy on me lol. i just wanted to know what you guys think the problem is.. Also theres a tiny hole just below my foot peg on my exhaust, am i right in thinking thats a drain hole? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have recently bought a YBR 125 that I am still learning on post-CBT. I want to take it to work to get more practise, but my laptop is a bit too heavy and awkward on a backpack. Can anyone recommend any luggage that might be suitable and compatible with my bike? I am not too keen on a topbox - being only 5'3", I might have some difficulty getting onto the bike with one! Thanks for any ideas.

  20. Hi all, had my R1 for a year now and it's due a MOT and want to get her serviced at the same time, so can anyone recommend a good garage to get it done. Reason for asking is that I took my Thundercat to a place in Plymouth end of last year for a major service and it's not run the same since they had it. I've even had to go back there twice because it was missing and kept on dying at the lights.
