Hi all New to the forum I'm looking at getting a YBR 125 as my next bike when I turn 17 in January. As a step up from my 50cc scooter! If anyone has got one. What are they like to live with? Also as I'm thinking of doing my full A1 licence. Would the YBR be capable of getting me and my gear over to next years Isle of Mann TT? Thanks Ash

I am new at this. I have had a Yamaha 175cc dirt bike since I was 12 years old. Got it as a christmas present. It was my second motorcycle ever, my first was a Italian made Indian 50cc dirtbike. I am now 33 and wanting to fix the Yamaha up for my 11 year old boy. My father made it look like a dirt bike with a TT tank decals, stripped down look and knob tires. I am now researching the bike so I can figure out where to start in getting it to run. I can not find a number on the engine but it looks original. The number on the frame is CT1-082606 which tells me it was a CT175 Enduro? Is that right? Can anyone tell me what year it is? Seems like everywhere I look says something…

Hi, I need a bit of help or advise with my Yamaha YBR125 as I have a small problem with either the clutch or gearbox. The problem is when i shift up or down some times the bike seems to slip into neutral and the revs shoot up, I then struggle trying to get it back into gear as it refuses to click and acknowledge a gear and seems to stay in this false neutral for a bit, usually it clicks out after a bit and jumps into gear but on some occasions I have to pull over and stall and bump start it. Can someone please give me a bit of advise or support as I am a learner and Im not sure whether it is me doing something wrong or the bike is damaged. Thanks.

Hi there I brought a Yamaha YBR 125 new on friday. I was wondering about the running in of it as was told to stick at 5,000 revs and is harder than it seems! I did about 60 miles on it then started going up 7,000 revs and bike felt fine even at its top speed its seems fine!!! even managed to keep up with a pack up superbikes for a journey back to my home town... I have 170 miles on the clock at the moment I know they say keep at 5000 for 100 miles then rev to 6000 to clean the injects but they say to stick to 5000 as temperature treatment with the engine where it needs to get used to being started up regularly otherwise the metal can get defects or the pumps need r…

Hello new here and if possible I would like your thoughts on the xmax 125 scooter, as I may be getting one of these next week if my girlfriend has anything to do with it. Since last thursday (19th) the funds have been available for a new/secondhand 125 scooter, and my girlfriend is taken with the xmax/xmax sport. My questions are this, there is not much difference that I can see between them bar for a back rest and smaller screen, plus the fact that the sport is a couple of hundred pound dearer. Am I correct or just looking for reasons to pick? Secondly and more important is reliability I really want to know that if I get one that it will last, as I need it for the com…

  14. Some of you guys know that I recently bought an old (but willing - bit like me) ty175. Having got it home (after a 10 hour round trip) and got it started (after reconnecting a wire that had pulled off the coil under the tank in transit) it seemed to be running a bit hot - just a hunch having had loads of air cooled two strokes in the past and not having the benefit of a temp guage! Then I remembered a comment that the seller made - i.e. he always put an eggcup full of oil in the petrol tank when he filled up - a ty175 only holds 4 litre of fuel from absolute empty. Adding extra lubricant may seem like a good idea but apparently can cause the engine to run hot and…

Hi all, been riding round on my xv125 and a question is bugging me ( this is probably the start of a really dumb-ass question ). When I bought it the bike had a kph speedo with relevant stickers on at the kph equivalent of 30mph 50mph and 70.I bought a converter which works fine and is far easier to read but, does this alter the odometer , does it still measure kilometres - I know if I spent a bit of time I could probably work it out but if anyone knows the answer I'd be grateful. The reason I've taken to thinking about this is I've got my mod2 in two weeks and I cant afford to keep the xv and buy a bigger bike as well, so to save confusion when I put it up for sale I'd li…

  18. I have two different carberators. The one that came with the bike initially had the bike running a bit gunky and it flooded the carb and was always leaking. I purchased a overhaul kit but all the pieces I received were incorrectly sized. They were all to big. I called a small owner repair-man and asked him to look at my machine and he couldn't get it work. I ended up buying a drop-in, new carb to put in. Now no matter what i do with this new larger carb (the pieces from the overhaul kit fit this carb) it always runs wide open. I am not sure if the bike is just a differnt year, or if it is a failed project. The serial number is 3J0-002414 I haven't been able …

Hi all, I want to change a few things on my bike as they have either worn or been damaged. However I am having a bit of difficulty finding the parts on the internet. So if you have any ideas on where to get them from, it would be greatly appreciated. Both tyres on my bike are the stock ones it came with. I am able to change the back wheel but am less confident doing so on the front due to the disc brake. So I will go to a garage for the front wheel. So I just need a single back tyre, but do not know of the best places to get this from? My foot pegs are on a single bar bolted to the underside of my bike, and I am struggling to find the single bars for sale. I am onl…
